Proper Ejector seats!!!

Postby robelt » Wed Nov 15, 2017 6:15 am

Hello reader, I was wondering if you know any aircraft with a proper and working ejector seats that can be ported to other aircrafts, I am trying to implement the ejector seats on the F-14B but can't find any aircraft with that. I tried the OV-10 but the eject command just obliviates the pilots, the Lockheed Martin U-2S has a very good model, but only on YouTube, after downloading the aircraft from the Github page, It failed to start. So if you know any aircraft with my specifications please point out a link or give me some suggestions. Thank you for your regards.

I don’t think any plane in FG has what you’re looking for so you might have to develop it from scratch.

That used to work. In the original scheme the user aircraft remains the user aircraft and the pilot/seat/parachute is an AIBallistic object. An alternative scheme would be to have the user aircraft change to look like a pilot/seat/parachute and the airplane would then become a ballistic object.

Or you could just do your own Nasal solver for the seat dynamics, which would make it more sophisticated than an AI/ballistic object yet not quite on the level of the original plane.

Or code two FDMs in JSBSim with one of them kept in standby and switched to active as soon as you eject so that two state vectors are updated.

No! I mean the main camera that FG uses. After I have ejected the camera will stay on the plane, not on the pilot.

Not if you re-direct the cockpit view to wherever the seat is. Or introduce a view that follows it. Moving views around isn't a particularly new problem - I suggest you study a few of the parachute-dropping planes to illustrate the concept.
