Spektrum DX8 as Joystick configuration

Postby peter_mars » Wed Nov 01, 2017 11:50 am

Dear Forum Friends,
I installed recently FG 2017.3.1 on my windows 7 , 64 bit notebook, nvidia gforce 540 M graphic controller, and I'm trying to setup my Spektrum DX8 radio controller as joystick for airflight control.
I'm using a KSIM USB adapter with 3,5 plug for cable connection with the DX8 controller.
Basicly I can see all signals moving while opening the joystick configurator :
Left stick up/down -> axis 4 -> Throttle ok
Left stick left/right -> axis 3 -> Rudder trim does not work on aircraft
Right stick up/down -> axis 1 -> Elevator ok
Right stick left/right -> axis 0 -> Aileron trim does not work on aircraft
I'm not sure if trim settings are the correct ones, but there is no setting for Rudder and Aileron.

Maybe anybody can help me to solve this issue.
Attached screenshot from joystick configurator and setting file. (don't know how to attach files !)
Thanks for your support

br
Peter

"You get more air close to the ground," said Angalo. "I read that in a book. You get lots of air low down, and not much when you go up."
"Why not?" said Gurder.
"Dunno. It's frightened of heights, I guess."

No link, but its a KSIM 4/8/all in one.
It has 4 sim setting via switch on the side. No 2 is " G5-G7 above".
Thats the only one that lets everything be recognised.

Re: Spektrum DX8 as Joystick configuration ... wireless

The .. Orange Rx DSMX/DSM2 wireless USB Dongle turns out to be an 8 channel receiver dongle and it works very well with MInt and Flightgear and my DX8

There are two versions of the dongle, the other is : Orange Rx FrSky USB Dongle for Flight Simulator Both are available on Amazon or Ebay.

I, like many RC flyers are also current or past full scale pilots, and enjoy ether practising on a sim or like me getting back to flying again.

if anyone needs help with this setup .... just ask.
