Post your candidate for FlightGear's Screenshot of Sept 2017

Postby legoboyvdlp » Wed Sep 13, 2017 4:25 pm

Hello Pilots! :D

Now's your chance to submit your candidate for September's FlightGear SOTM contest!

Participation Rules
15 entries (because a poll can only have 15 options)
Only one entry per person to give everyone a fair chance of submitting a screenshot.
You may enter one extra for somebody else. This person of course can submit their own candidate.
If you submit a screenshot of another person, please make sure he/she grants you the right to publish it under the correct license!
Please convert your picture from png to jpg (plenty of converters online).
Has to be taken with FlightGear.
Every picture should have a caption.
Please add the name of the aircraft and the location where the screenshot was taken to your entry (not necessarily to be mentioned in the caption).
Screenshots must not be post-processed except from cropping and/or resizing (but you may use the in-sim ALS filters).
You may change your entry as often as you want, until the voting starts.
You agree to license your screenshot under the CC-BY-SA 4.0 license for publication by the FlightGear project.

Voting will start when 15 entries are reached or at the latest on September 24th, in a seperate topic.

Cheers ;)

"You get more air close to the ground," said Angalo. "I read that in a book. You get lots of air low down, and not much when you go up."
"Why not?" said Gurder.
"Dunno. It's frightened of heights, I guess."

i see a pretty sunset with clouds and trees silhouetted but no helicopter... unless... maybe... is it in the dark central area where it looks like water reflecting the light?

i'm starting to think i'm going to have to get a digital monitor instead of this CRT because most all FG images i see are dark on this monitor... i'm betting that a digital monitor is inherently brighter because of its design... this isn't the first graphical application that is like this, though... Jupiter Hell (still in development) is also very dark on some monitors... when those developers ran it as a demo on another set of monitors, they couldn't believe how dark it was compared to the monitors they use on their development systems... even watching them streaming development and game play, the screens are dark... i just have to decide which monitor to get and if i'm going to get one or two of them for this system along with a newer video card with more GPUs and a lot more RAM on it...
