Forum rules
In order to help you, we need to know a lot of information. Make sure to include answers to at least the following questions in your initial post.

- what OS (Windows Xp/Vista, Mac etc.) are you running?
- what FlightGear version do you use?
- what graphics card do you have?
- does the problem occur with any aircraft, at any airport?
- where did you download your aircraft/scenery from?
- is there any output printed to the console (black window)?
- copy&paste your commandline (tick the "Show commandline box on the last page of FGRun or the "Others" section on the Mac launcher).

Please report any bugs not specific to an aircraft on the issue tracker.
To run FlightGear on old computers with bad OpenGL support, please take a look at this wiki article.

Note: If you did not get a reponse, even after 7 days, you may want to check out the FlightGear mailing lists to ask your question there.

Aha! At least you've found something which might be causing your problem.

I'm afraid DNS is beyond my knowledge, so I hope one of the other Fgers can join in and help with this.

Cheers,

Vic

please post the exact DNS related message...
"You get more air close to the ground," said Angalo. "I read that in a book. You get lots of air low down, and not much when you go up."
"Why not?" said Gurder.
"Dunno. It's frightened of heights, I guess."

That's strange. I use 2017.2.1 and my launcher looks like this:

That first screenshot is from the in-sim dialog. I don't have this problem. It was fixed with the commit:

This was on the 3rd of May, and the 2017.2.1 release was tagged on the 18th of May:

Are you absolutely sure about the version of FlightGear running? Can you post a screenshot of the dialog from the "Help->About" menu entry? Do you have multiple versions of FlightGear installed?

Note, I have merged both topics as they refer to the same problem, and shifted this out of the Mac installation subforum. And for reference this is the image:

I suggest having a look at this thread:

As asked in that thread, could you check and confirm that the problem is fixed in the nightly builds for Mac?

I downloaded it and it does not work.

Here's what someone else said:

You'll need to find the string in the flightgear dmg installer and edit it.
replace the
terrasync.flightgear.org
with
dream.t3r.de/fgscenery
