Hi there.
Why can you not start those aircraft? What happens? I have a Q400 which works (it is unfinished, but flyable) (and yes, it's Canadian!) -- get it at https://github.com/D-ECHO/Q400

And as far as I know, politics has nothing to do with FlightGear; as you said, Tu-134 and Tu-154 are working.
As far as I know, at least four of the main developers are from Europe; I only know of one from the United States ;)

I had that problem a while ago, and finally found that was related to Flightgear 2017.2.1 after reinstalling, several times. The selection of aircraft directory also didn't work... So i downloaded an older version and... everything works. Hope those bugs are fixed in the next update, since they are "game breaking". So if you are using the latest version... you know what to do...

No, because it works fine for all the developers and we get zero information from users what doesn't work, what error messages are produced and what the log files show, which is why it can't be analyzed and fixed.

You want it fixed, we really need more information.
See this?

Terribly sorry, but that's what we need.

If you have a patch fixing it in the pipeline, I stand corrected. Otherwise - I just report the development that's discussed among developers, and a bug 'can's start aircraft XY' isn't being processed by anyone I know - because there's no information available.

:D Yes, I just had a look at the dev mailing list and there James T. wrote something about launcher bugs in 2071.2.1 to be adressed, so there is hope.

And clearly you can't erase bugs without clear info and bug reports like "sh*t doesn't work, don't know why" are not exactly encouraging. On the other hand (esp. for new users) FG is not 100 percent transparent - e.g. the Forum rules refer to FGrun (which is not included anymore) and the console (the console option in 17.2.1.'s launcher does not work and user has to find out how to edit the program shortcut to see the console). So positive interest, patience and curiosity on all sides would be the ideal. (Now give me some Paisley summer of love liveries;-)

That's almost certainly a different issue than reported in this thread.

So positive interest, patience and curiosity on all sides would be the ideal.

Feel free to get involved taking bug reports, analyzing them and fixing them in any way you like.
