Rain effect on glass

An exciting "new" option in FlightGear, that includes reflections, lightmaps, the particle system etc.. A lot is yet to be discovered/implemented!

Rain effect on glass

Postby sp-lcz » Sat Apr 22, 2017 11:21 am

Hi All,

today I saw first time rain effect in FG on the glass. In 737-800 it was static:

In A320-200 it was dynamic:

But the general question is: why I see this effect on FL340 / FL350 :) Is it possible to fix it?

Thanks

You're seeing it because /environment/rain-norm has a value larger than zero, and that is the case at FL 300 because Basic Weather doesn't set the value to zero above the cloud layer but just has a hack to suppress rendering rain particles at altitude, whereas Advanced Weather explicitly keeps track of the volumes where rain is falling and sets the property to zero when you're outside a volume.

Thus, use AW (I recommend it to drive ALS anyway, it's much better integrated)
