25th March. Fair well to the Lynx flight

Postby StuartC » Sun Mar 19, 2017 12:01 pm

25th March 8pm UK time. This is an FGUK Saturday Flightnight event. http://www.fguk.eu

A bit of a special and sad flight this week.
This is a recreation of the final flight by the Lynx Helicopter in UK Service.

The Flight was undertaken by 4 HMA8 Lynx on Friday 17th March 2017. This was the retirement of the final "Classic" lynx from UK Service. They have now been replaced by Wildcats.

As we do not have the HMA8 version available yet ( we are working on it though ), this event will be open to any of the 3 Lynx variants available in our Current "Classic" lynx package found here:-

http://www.fguk.eu/index.php/hangar/dow ... -lynx-v0-6

No other aircraft are permitted for this flight. The Lynx package has had a minor update for this flight.

The real flight took around 5 hours to complete. As we will be pushing the Lynx much harder and have less stops I do hope to get as far round the route as possible in our 2 hour flight slot. It will be a sharp departure at 8pm. if you are late you will need to catch up. ( note to people on the wrong side of the pond, the UK Daylight savings dose not start until the day after this flight ).

A route manger file can be downloaded here;-

I had completely missed that the Lynx helicopters had been replaced. At least it was by an improved version rather than something completely different. :)

Depends who you talk to if they think the Wildcat is an improvement or not.
Its not as Agile, slower, and heavier with the same power rating as the HMA8 its replacing..................

What does this mean? What are the consequences for typing in FG?

Last time I typed in FG-chat ppl got rude. Not intelligent.

The question is rather "What happens if I yank or let go of the cyclic?". Just reaching for a badly placed screenshot button on my joystick have made me flip over faster than I could correct for... ;)

you need your hads on the sticks to fly choppers. removing them can be fatal. trying ti typde wile flying choppers is usually fatal. typing while flying is generally a pain in the arse in general and the text colour is also difficut to read quickly which also removes your concerntration while flying.
