Hello, f-ojac

Yes but out of the right shape , so instead it is better to avoid it.
In real life that base_clape_03 won't have stayed more than a week when the wind is blowing at 200 kph at the top.
Oh, by the way, if the Photo is more than heigh years old may be my friend Gerard and me are part of these cyclists climbing to.
Though, more often, we went on by the North side road. :)
Right now back to the country but less courageous.

I am not a specialist,, however since living at the moment close to the "Geant de Provence" , may be i can give more details to that mountain, for instance by drawing the other tower so replacing the generic RAF which does not suit.

Other could be done , but we are missing a working btg format converter.
The work i did regarding the main tower , was too much time lost, for a medium result.

I just notice an other issue:

since the new files are tourventoux.ac tourventoux1.png tourventoux2.png

the outdated object is longer staying in the related folder Objects/e000n40/e005n44
TourVentoux.ac , ground.rgb, tour-face.rgb will have to be manually deleted

Hello, I want to report a wrong airport but i didn't find how to do it nor delete it.

This airport is misspelled and also duplicated, SACZ is wrong. The correct ID is SAZC.
https://skyvector.com/airport/SAZC/Coro ... ez-Airport

Deleting SACZ should fix the problem.

Thank you!

Hello,
As we depend of XPlane for this data, you have to check on their website ( https://gateway.x-plane.com/ ) whether the data is OK or not, and if it is not correct it or ask for correction.

Ok! Great! I already did some time ago and they removed the wrong one. I suppose it's matter of time.

Thank you.

I'm again working on some waterfalls which don't work with the upload form (it has a *.ac as a mandatory field whereas the waterfalls are a pure particle system containing only the xml declaration) - do we have a procedure for this by now, do I send a PM, or something different preferred?

Hi Thorsten,

To make them work, you could make the simplest model in a 3D system like SketchUp - a small triangle coloured with any colour but with zero opacity. That will enable you to submit via the current input form provided you can satisfy the other mandatory fields..

It does seem kind of wrong to submit a token model just to satisfy the webform...

As far as I know there isn't a way to just input an .xml file. Using the token .ac allows you to place your particle effect exactly where you want it to go.

Isn't that a simple enough work-around? (I don't like to call it a hack).

Well, anyone with write access to the database can add it by hand (that's what happened last time when I had waterfalls) - it's just the webform which needs to be tricked, not the scenery database itself - but it's on the scenery database where we create noise that way.

Hello and thanks for the wonderful tool. I made my first contribution and a few days later, saw it in FG thanks to terrasync. This is awsome!

However, I got confused by the heading to put for a new object. I don't understand this part from the tooltip help:

The orientation (in degrees) for the object you want to add - as it appears in the STG file (this is NOT the true heading). Let 0 if there is no specific orientation.

So the related question is: how can I convert from true heading to "STG" heading?

Thanks in advance!

When placing the object - type '=' and you will get the option to change the up/down, left/right and the orientation.

If the object is already on the scenery model map - click on it to reveal the object details and then click on the top left and choose 'Update'.

Hope that helps.

Sorry, I forgot to add context to the question...

When I add an object, I usually start from google maps to have a rough idea where to place it and get the orientation from the map, then I go to the scene model maps to add the object (right-click, place new object here). Here, the heading is in STG orientation format.

By plotting various points, I was able to "reverse engineer" the formula to pass from True to STG degrees.

Here it is if it can help someone:

Code: Select all
STG = (540 - TRUE) % 360

Note % is for fmod, or float modulus operator.

It works perfectly in wolfram alpha (not affiliated in any ways).

https://www.wolframalpha.com

Enter (for example to convert 135 degrees true (t) to stg (s):
Code: Select all
s = fmod(540 - t, 360) where t=135

You can also plot it:
Code: Select all
plot s = fmod(540 - t, 360), for t=0..360

As a suggestion, it would be nice to be able to enter directly in True or STG in the "Objects addition form" of the Scene Model maps.

Thanks,
Mathieu
