No RG Run? No sale this time.
Use the 3d preview in FG run to position things on aircraft 90% of the time when working on cockpits and external loads etc.

Sorry to hear a missing FGRun is a showstopper for you. The reason for dropping it as that it was a pain to maintain and we currently do not have a Windows maintainer.
There are way better alternatives for 3d preview available, osgviewer is a good example. There is also fgviewer shipped with fg.

You need to tell it to load something: http://wiki.flightgear.org/FGViewer

fgfs --fg-root=$FG_ROOT --fgviewer [path] means squat.
If I run hat from a dos box it doesn't work.

You know, FGRun is just a fancy way of assembling a commandline - so you can just continue to use it since commandlines still work. It hasn't actually changed...

But using a commandline every time I wat to run FG isn't very effective or efficient.

He meant just use FGRun from an old release with 2016.4.1.

Yes if on Win add --console to the windows shortcut, and it works again. :)

If any location is not selected, FlightGear 2016.4.1 will start at Santos Dumont Airport (SBRJ), not at Zürich Airport (LSZH).
