FGTracker does not follow

Postby PavlinS » Sun Oct 23, 2016 10:13 am

Hey all,
Recently I see that FGTracker /mpserver15/ does not follow me during flights. I use MPServer 1 and he is show me on the map. I registrated my callsighn. Is there any peculiar reason to not do that?

No idea, it may be that even if the mpserver01 is tracking, it doesn't count the current flights. It happened to me more than once with 03 some time ago.

Does anyone have any idea why FG Tracker/planner is still down? Will it come back or is it offline permanently? It's been down now for at least 4 days

It's completely ran and funded by hazuki, and he's been reliable in the past. Give it another week or so, or try PMing him here.

If keeping a record of your flight data is important to you, there are other ways to go about it, such as logging your sessions.

Did you see this note?
Starting from 2016.11.15 0000UTC, FGTracker will ONLY track flight sessions that are connected to the tracked MPSERVER with callsigns that are registered in FGTracker.

Might clear all your problems...

That's irrelevant and unrelated to this problem.

it has a date in the future, too... we're only in the 10th month of the year right now ;)
"You get more air close to the ground," said Angalo. "I read that in a book. You get lots of air low down, and not much when you go up."
"Why not?" said Gurder.
"Dunno. It's frightened of heights, I guess."

Since this topic is dated Oct 28th, there is a chance that the issue could be related to the IoT DDoS attack on DynDNS, which made many websites "invisible"/unavailable.

Moral of that story: Always change from the default passwords of your Internet connected appliances, be that routers, webcams, video recorders or whatever. :|

Yes, but that DDoS attack has been over for some days if I'm not mistaken. The tracker is still down, and IIRC it was down before the 28th. Ironically, the splash page lists all other servers as up and tracked, only server 15 is down but since that's the host for the tracker.....

I take it that the servers really aren't all that coordinated? (and/or nobody else can spin up the tracker software on a different server?)
