Here we go! (Sorry it took so long) (click to enlarge the pictures)

This is the custom scenery from: https://gitlab.com/fgradi/custom_scenery_VHXX

VHXX from approximately approach angle:

VHXX Terminal Building:

One more gimmick; the traffic shader! Great thing! These cars look very nice from above - and they even move! We need that in the generic scenery as well, IMHO (though I think they are a bit too fast).

Notes:

[OT]
I had some trouble with ALS. I would have loved to use ALS for these shots, as this would have further enhanced the quality, but I was not able to convince ALS to use the actual visibility settings... Both shots use the same weather setting (Fair Weather).

See:
https://musicchris.de/public_pics/KaiTa ... nderer.jpg
https://musicchris.de/public_pics/KaiTak_ALS.jpg

Propably time to pull the latest FG...

Seems to have repaired itself...

And I got this message in the terminal (about 8 times):
Code: Select all
osgDB ac3d reader: could not find texture "FS2X-palette.png"

[/OT]

Don't hesitate to let me know if I'm incorrect or just annoying! As long as you do it gently! :)

Can't do - you need uv-mapped roads for that. Once you have that, it's easy to add (I suppose I could even manage cars which don't use both lanes...)

Here are some shots of my Phuket(VTSP) OSM2City rendering:

BTW, The terrain wasn't that good, and I probably can't run TerraGear.(Although the OSM coastlines are interesting to render!)
There are free alternatives to (almost) every program you encounter. You just have to find them.

"Why not?" said Gurder.
"Dunno. It's frightened of heights, I guess."

Nice pics/places wkitty42!

Unfortunately ( as you porpably have seen on the mailing list yourself ) Thorsten is taking a break. Hopefully we can get this to work without him, until he's back.

If I'm not mistaken, the poll is about to start in 1 1/2 weeks. Lets see if we can get this going.

Best regards
chris

+1 LSZH, VHHH

Those seem like good airports, nice and big, well modeled.

I might make a few screenshot.

LSZH Zurich. Largest airport in Switzerland is in my top 3 of favourite airports/surroundings. Also looks very good at night.

-Enough parking space for big jets and small aircraft
-Sometimes challenging weather
-20-30 miles south of this airport lies a big mountain range so approaching from the south with a big jet can be challenging but also fun.
-VFR flights are also fun because of the mountain range and big valleys. Try for instance LSZH-LOWI.
-And from Zurich it is not far to other big airports/cities (Paris, Frankfurt, Lyon, Milan)

@NL-Ray: Could you please "post a short description" along with your two screenshots (maybe edit the post)?

Cheers,
