Hello,

Is there any date for releasing FG2016.3 versions of aircrafts at https://github.com/FGMEMBERS?

Thanks a lot.

Hi Yanfiz,

It's best to discuss the details of fgmembers custom aggregate of aircraft and aircraft mods over on their own forum where you can interact directly with their team.

I don't have any problem for now but would just like to see them with the latest improvements since their last stable ones and I didn't want to try development versions of aircrafts in production version of FlightGear.

Thank you for your nice and valuable comments.

Hi Yanfiz,

Here is my recommendation for keeping your favorite aircraft up to date. I would start by visiting the official list of FlightGear hangars:

http://wiki.flightgear.org/FlightGear_hangars

Many authors maintain their own hangars and distribution system, so you will get the most stable and authentic versions if you download direct from the original author. I also like the idea of supporting and crediting the original authors by downloading the aircraft direct from them. FlightGear itself maintains a repository of about 500 aircraft. Many aircraft authors contribute directly to the FlightGear repository and that is the official source for those aircraft. Fgmembers has done their best to aggregate aircraft from all possible sources and all states of completion and make everything available in a giant package via a "git" download method. (versus .zip or other distribution mechanisms.) They have also made their own custom mods to several of the airplanes and included a few of their own designs. FGmembers will tell you how superior their distribution mechanism is and how superior their versions of the airplanes are. I'll leave that for you to decide, but personally I would recommend going to the original author's source location for your aircraft. And while you are at it, send a note of thanks to the author if you especially enjoy one of their aircraft. We have a lot of content creators pouring their hearts and souls into some wonderful designs and then making it available for the rest of us to enjoy.

Best regards,

Hi Curt,

In fact, history is like this. My very very very favourite aircraft is 777. After most of aircrafts had been seperated from installer of FlightGear, I searched and found the original development site of the 777. If I'm not wrong, a while ago (maybe 4~5 months ago) I downloaded its current snapshot in that day from https://gitlab.com/fg777_seattle/fg777_seattle and I got an error. I noticed FGMEMBERS packed stable version of 777 for appropriate production version of FlightGear. And today, I noticed 777 was packed in offical aircraft server of FlightGear with the latest improvements. So, reached my goal 8)

Thank you very much. Thanks to all developers!
