MD-80s, MD-90 Development

Postby Octal450 » Fri Sep 09, 2016 2:54 am

Hello
Thought I'd post a log of development of these planes. They are built of the amazing Buckaroo MD-81.

So far I have 4 models. [MD-82, MD-87, MD-88], and [MD-90].

Some cockpit shots currently:

Main panel MD-88, MD-90:

Main panel MD-82, MD-87:

Note: MD-82 is on the full analog panel by default. Switch with MD-82 --> Toggle Retrofit

MD-82 Full Analog Panel (MD-82 --> Toggle Retrofit):

Upgraded EFD MD-90 cockpit has been removed since I can't find enough information to replicate it realistically.

Exterior MD-82, MD-88:

Exterior MD-87 (Thanks Martien Van Der P!):

Liveries coming soon!

Exterior MD-90 (Thanks Martien Van Der P!):

FMSs coming soon.

The motto of these planes is: Everything you see, works (most of the time anyways).

I'll be posting here as I do major things. If anyone wishes to contribute, you are welcome!
Aircraft are under Creative Commons for now.

Thanks for looking,

Thanks!

Added this trim handle thing to all models:

Image
You can now set the trims from the cockpits. I have not put the thing that shows where the trim is yet.

Built a custom slat/flat system. Removed flaps 5 it's not exist.

Now it goes:
Slats up/flaps up
Slats ext/flaps up
Slats ext/flaps 11
Slats ext/flaps 15
Slats ext/flaps 28
Slats ext/flaps 40

Tweaked nose weight, now it requires down pressure like the real ones!

Regards,
Josh

Hi,
Nice !.
4 sound files have names errors.
Code: Select all
xMDA_CMB_1.wav => XMDA_CMB_1.wav
xMDA_CMB_2.wav => XMDA_CMB_2.wav
xMDB_CMB_1.wav => XMDB_CMB_1.wav
xMDB_CMB_2.wav => XMDB_CMB_2.wav

Hi Patten,
I think I have fixed this, can you verify that the issue is resolved? I'm on Windows, and therefore don't get errors with capitalization issues.

Thanks,
Josh

Yes, it's OK, you have changed the MD-90-sound.xml.
Here, I renamed the sound files, to comply with the other.

Code: Select all
     XMDA_CMB_1.wav
     XMDA_CMB_2.wav
     XMDB_CMB_1.wav
     XMDB_CMB_2.wav

It's a choice. :wink:

@Patten
I know.
Git doesn't like to see those file name changes, so I modified the XML file to use lowercase x on those 4 files!!!

Does the warning still appear inside console?

I know they are off center. I am redoing those 2 knobs. They need to stick out of the panel, and the heading knob needs the bank angle selector knob.
