2016.x.x take off from carrier

Postby tsx2006 » Tue Jul 26, 2016 10:02 am

Good day to you all!

I have a question, obviously,
The new flightgear launcher is, well personally I don't like it. I like the old one better. Why did they change it? Nothing was broken.
How does one start from the carriers? I can enter carrier=Nimitz (Settings, Additional options) then I am on the carrier once everything is loaded but I cannot do anything. Only the menu on top is working. When I take off from land it works fine. Everywhere I look, there is reference to the old interface.
The other question is, how do I get the console and the commandline?

Anyone has a little advice for me.

You can continue to use the old one, it still works.

As for why the change, because the old one was Windows-only - the Qt5 thing works for Mac and Linux as well and allows to do things OS-independently, which is really conceptually superior as we don't need to deal with dedicated Win, Mac and Linux issues.

Hi,
thanks for the answer, and how would I do that?
