I've made a symlink, as I understand, to Nvidia's libGL.so.1.0.0. and successfully compiled.

A missing libGL.so error usually means you need to install the opengl development package.

No, libGL.so.1.2.0 was missing, libGL.so was referring to that missing file. libGL.so.1 refers to Nvidia's libGL.so.1.0.0 so I did the same for libGL.so
I found the solution here http://techtidings.blogspot.ru/2012/01/ ... buntu.html

I am getting the identical cmake error that sergey did and the same note about asking for cmake version, i.e., missing SimGearComponent file.
simgear and sgbuild are hierarchically equal as per the instructions.
cmake version 3.10.2 is in use on an opensuse leap 15.1 OS.
I pulled simgear from github on 5/25/2020

In the lower posts on this error discussion, I am not clear what was meant when Sergey said "Yay, I passed the error under /usr/local/src! "

Could I get a concise description of how to get past this problem?

Thanks, Tom Kosvic
