Other people can be interested on your opinion, but not me. Not today, not tomorrow! I will solve this problem very quickly not having new problems with you as perfectly said by abassign! Simply we will ignore you! Stop arguing, an let us work on our Fiat G.91 R4 v.10109 - JSBsim. Thank you!

@Thorsten... I repeat, that's not your business.

If you (plural) comment about lighting in my rendering framework, it is my business, you made it so. If I spent time to research legal FAQs and find a result and you contradict it, you made it my business.

It seems I failed to get a simple point across, so let me re-iterate it:

My interest is to see correct solutions and explanations presented in this forum. (...) If you want to see me stop answering here, just stop posting wrong advice and explanations - that's all it takes. There's no resentment of any kind involved, just a wish to see things straightened out.

It is entirely possible that I am wrong - in which case I would like to understand why so that I can stop giving bad advice.

@bugman: I would say thank you for your appreciation anyway I did not accept the insinuation, that my work is a derivative by another person. I know what model you're talking about, but it has nothing to do with what I did and the hard work I'm doing on it (I have my original files and alot of screenshots to prove it). Even a blind man can see the difference. I started working on this model in 2014. Months before the french developer started and finished his own work in a weekend. And I'm still working on my model, cause I care too much. Is a work made step by step. Each vertex belongs to me, so please stop with these allegations tended to question the veracity of my work. The model is totally new and is mine! Our plane can flight on every PC with at least 2GB ram. That's all! If you want to see how I started my Fiat G.91 R4 v.10109 look there:

Each airplane needs a pilot. Our Fiat G.91 R4 v.10109 pilot is called Giuseppe. And is made by me too. License: Creative Commons, CC-BY-NC-ND 4.0 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0/

If someone spends 2 years on a model and another person 2 days, I think I know who's being insulted if there's any insinuation that ones a derivative of the other...

And I don't see that there's a court in any land that would see it differently.

I would suggest you look at all the other 3rd party repository CC planes and check to see how much of their animation files have a common similarity and as such are derivatives before commenting about this chaps work.

P.S.
cobe571, as I think you're sucessfully getting your point across I can see this topic being locked or deleted in the near future.

Well, my apologies for thinking that this was an open source community where all contributions are looked upon equally and not realizing that it's a chest-thumping competition of who spent more time on what.

I wish that all issues related to the CC are discussed elsewhere , this post is related to discussing the FIAT G91R4 plane and no other additional things that can be adequately discussed elsewhere.

Thank for your patience

Look abassign - you started a rendering discussion here. cobe571 started the license discussion here.

People are just reacting to you. It's pointless to make controversial statements and then ask people to not react - if you want the discussions elsewhere, just make your statements elsewhere or not at all.

Postby cobe571 » Tue Jun 07, 2016 11:47 am

@Thorsten: I just tried to stop you questioning about our decision on the licenses that we (me and abassign) will use on OUR project, That's OUR decision. Not yours! If that doesn't like you, please choose another thread to discuss something different or something that like you more. Here we want discuss only about the development of the Fiat G.91 R4 v.10109 - JSBSim. From now I will stop to reply everything you'll write. I have not interest on wasting my time anymore on your attempts to start another flame! Respect our hard work as we respect yours! Thank you!

You fail to see our point - if parts of your project are GPL licensed and the GPL clauses are triggered, it may not be your decision after all.

This has nothing to do with what I like - I've been trying to suggest a safe option to you to achieve what you want, so has Edward. I don't know why you need to see this as a personal affront.

I don't know what's going on with this thread and I am not planning to read everything on this thread to make a comment. I just want to point out that there is nothing wrong for Thorsten to make a statement here regarding licensing or rendering issue. Also please don't try turning this into an argument (you have done this a few times in this thread). Thorsten has just given you facts/opinions and you shouldn't use phases like "doesn't like you" or "I'm not interested on your opinion". If you disagree with Thorsten, that is fine. Just say you disagree and give your reasons. This is a public forum and I hope you sincerely consider your words before posting them.

P.S. I am not here to judge whether this is your model or not. If you have been making it for 2 years, congratulation to you. It looks fabulous.

@Thorsten: No man. All of my 3D model parts are NOT GPL. Because made by me only, vertex by vertex, edge by edge, face by face, in these past years.. Because of the hours I spent on it, I will never give to the community as GPL! Absolutely, I will never ever ditribute as GPL. Never! Just that FDM parts made by abassign are GPL because he want in that way... And I respect that decision, as he respect mine. With this I close every discussion about the licenses we use on OUR project. There's another thread on the forum to talk about licenses. Every other word is irrilevant! Let us work in the way we like. Thank you!

@Thorsten

Censoring is not beautiful, but sometimes necessary, I already asked you yesterday to stop intervening on this topic, at least for a bit 'of days, weeks and maybe even months ... for discussions on the CC issue has been defined this topic: https://forum.flightgear.org/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=29670 I hope then, as has already been done, that the posts made in discussions on the CC and GPL are positioned in just mentioned topic.

I think that sometimes it is better to leave at home their own pride and restrain their existential excitements for the sake of this magnificent project called FGFS.

Thanks for your understanding :)

Have you considered that you could get all of those models textured on one single texture of the size of the seat...

Now you might want to have a texture per model, for transfering to a different plane... but if not you could make some texture savings here.
