I have been giving these planes some work, first is beginning to fix the AP. I have installed my IT2 Autopilot system, and it is hooked up to the dialog, PFD, and MCP. It works decently, of course, I will tune it for the plane, so it flies even better. This thread will keep track of my improvements to the A340-313X and A340-600HGW.

The new APs are stable, and can perform full long flights (LNAV works) without crashing, spinning, loosing controls ETC. Next I will work on Autothrottle, and possibly FBW. All knobs and switches are connected and working. The IT2 Autopilot is still in development, and some internal AUTOFLIGHT systems will be tuned/changed, and these planes will receive those updates.

Regards,

It's not stable...not even close. The AP on the A346 makes the plane roll from side to side,and up-down. Speed stays at 220 no matter what.

Badly,badly broken. :(

@berkut
That makes no sense, I tried it several times, no issue. You do not have my latest version. The old AP did that. If you are in NAV mode without a FP, it will go in cirlces. (I have yet to build a protection system against that.) Clicking the HDG knob, or pressing the HDG switch in the dialog will switch it into HDG HLD mode. It is by default in Heading mode. I made a small error in which NAV cannot be engaged from the cockpit, I will fix that very soon, as well as implementing the fixes in the AP version 2.0.2. While the AP is stable, if you make very small heading adjustments, it might overrun the heading a little bit, that will be fixed. But it is 100% flyable. (I just tested it again)

This AP has done 7 hour test flights in the A346 and A343 without any problems.

The latest is at: http://www.github.com/FGMEMBERS/A340-600HGW and http://www.github.com/FGMEMBERS/A340-313X

Note that you must remove -master from both foldernames.

@evaair
That is your problem with your sim setup! I have now had 6 people in the testing team confirm the AP performs correctly. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THE COPY FROM my links above, or you will not have my changes. You are doing something wrong in your FGRUN.

or better yet, what was the solution? ;)
"You get more air close to the ground," said Angalo. "I read that in a book. You get lots of air low down, and not much when you go up."
"Why not?" said Gurder.
"Dunno. It's frightened of heights, I guess."

-200 now updated, issues remain.

Among them, after opening the dialog, I cannot use the cockpit buttons. The autothrottle holds 220 nevermind what speed I set, unless the set speed is below 220.

Very strange. I will take a look, it worked fine for me last time I tested it. I have forgetten to add a way to enable NAV. Left click enables HDG, so middle click will enable NAV.

Hello it0uchpods,

Concerning the A340-313X
The - mininimums - phrase in the sounds\mk-v111 directory sounds odd.
Please replace the present mininmums.wav file by a correct minimums.wav file.

Kind greetings,
ph-cor

Whoops
That does sound odd...
Really odd now that I think about it... Where did I get that sound from? Maybe I recorded it :oops:

I think that I have that sound, I'll fix that in all 4 A340s tomorrow.

cor,
I have fixed it in all 4 A340s + update to IT-AUTOFLIGHT V3 Milestone 1.
I fouud my A340-600VIP had really weird 50 40 30 20 retard sounds... not sure what happened there.

Should be all fixed now.

I plan to do major work on the A340s soon, Hopefully on the overhead, and MCP. Also, the gear animations will be fully new. Then I will fix the FDMs (do strange things right now) and maybe basic FBW.

All A340s have the custom Airbus throttle system... 1000lines of code later...

Keep the throttle at around 70% for autothrottle. The AT button also does what is should like the real aircraft. Also MCT and TOGA detents.

I will add a sound for detents later.
