Hey Guys,

@Lego and I have sorted the OpenRadar files for RJGG (Chubu Centrair). They are of a fine standard.

FYI: I am GND, CLEARNCE, TWR. @Lego is APP/DEP and @ElGaton as CTs.

It's all on the git repo.

Also I recommend you download the amazing RJGG scenery for FG at: https://github.com/FGMEMBERS-SCENERY/RJ ... tomScenery

Disclaimer : This is purely optional but if you want ALL the developed airports you'll have to use TerraGit. Its easy and you don't have to handle many custom sceneries.

Hi All
As the Festival Comes close, this is a brief Howto to get the Japan scenery in Windows.

1. Get Git for Windows. Install this

https://git-scm.com/download/win

That creates a git shell (command Line), where you will type the following commands EXACTLY as shown

2. Initial Cloning

Code: Select all
git clone https://github.com/FGMEMBERS-TERRAGIT/terraGIT.git

This installs terraGIT in your computer. But it does not download ANY world tile. It is about 600 MB worth of shared models data.

2. Entering terraGIT

Code: Select all
cd terraGIT

The previous command created a directory in your computer named terraGIT that contains the base code. cd (change directory) allows you to enter your repository

3. Installing Japan

Code: Select all
install/Japan

The previous command installs the terraGIT scenery, up2date

That's it. No need to do anything else to get Japan for the next Festival.

**

Updates

in terraGIT directory on the command line, this two lines update or install Japan (if changes occur or for first time)

Code: Select all
git pull
install/Japan

Hope you enjoy the developments made at Japan. :)

Are the custom sceneries also being offered outside of terragit?

In order to use terraGit, one must A) have git installed, and B) be comfortable with command-line git. Yeah, I can do it no prob, but not everyone wants to do that. Some people just want custom sceneries they can download.

Don't get me wrong, I'm all for letting people who develop things, distribute those developments however they please. But don't expect normal windows users to do this.

EDIT: to say that the work they've been doing on Japan is definitely impressive. And I'll be using terragit for this. Any chance you can convince them to fix KBAB for me? =]

Now an update. No longer RJGG. ONLY ELGATON has something to do with Chubu. I have moved to RJAA Narita as GND/DEL with SHM.

I'm updating the ATC positions. Pilots and controllers are kindly invited to open ATC sessions/file flight plans on Lenny's website: while it is not mandatory, it will greatly speed up the work for us controllers!

Hello all:

Operation Red Flag (OPRF) has been conducting missions out of Yokota today, and hopefully hasn't got in the way of festival ops. Unfortunately, we had a pilot come in today who was very disrespectful of everyone, using weapons against targets that were not involved in any sort of combat sim. This player has indicated that they will spawn in tomorrow under the callsign of members of our OPRF crew. If this happens, please know that it isn't our people doing this.The callsign today was "thegood", but could be anything tomorrow.

Our missions are tightly planned, and led by experienced people. Anything outside that isn't us, but rather an impostor.

Thanks for the message - don't worry, you didn't get in the way at all :wink: We ATCs have also had to endure a troll (namely, a "controller" who continued to write insults repeatedly on the multiplayer chat).

Apart from that, the first day of the Festival was excellent - I've had to deal with quite a bit of traffic.

Finally, a note to controllers - please fill in flight plans in OpenRadar! To do so
  • start OpenRadar and open the Flightplans tab;
  • check "Enable flightplan exchange" and put http://h2281805.stratoserver.net/FgFpServer/ as the flightplan server; put anything you like in the username and password boxes;
  • check "Enable flightplan downloads" and put http://flightgear-atc.alwaysdata.net/dev2014_01_13.php5 in the "Flightplan webserver" box;
  • start OpenRadar as usual; to fill in flightplans, middle-click on the relevant flight strip, fill in the data and (important!) click the Save button.

An update on available controllers - due to personal reasons, KIWI34 will not be able to take part in this edition. ATC at Fukuoka will, thus, not be available, unless another volunteer chimes in.
