@pakistan-1, why don't you just move whatever it is to where it should be and show us. Leave instructions how you did it, here, as I did, so we can all benefit from it. It's not rocketscience, I'm the furthest guy from being a programmer and I figured a couple things out.

Full ack on the DIY part.

In his defence, the process of moving around osm2city-generated objects is not as simple as just editing a line in an .stg since they come as multiple objects merged into large (say, 2 by 2 km) meshes. If you think an object is in the wrong place, you'd have to correct that in openstreetmap, and then re-run osm2city.

That said, I'm not even sure what pakistan-1 is referring to: an object in the wrong place? Wrong landclass? Inappropriate texture? Wrong coastline?

Yeah well but honestly, I have no idea what or where you're referring to. I just completed a visit to Hong Kong, real life visit and I have no idea what you're talking about. Please be more specific.

Good Evening,

I am working on an updated groundnet for VHHH. The skeleton groundnet obtained from WED conversion shows Terminal 1 is misplaced and 'eats' some parking positions.

Image

After a quick and dirty UFO Based repositioning exercise I am suggesting the below new position (change 6th last line in Scenery\Objects\e110n20\e113n22\4807699.stg)

Code: Select all
OBJECT_STATIC vhhh-terminal1.ac 113.93005707 22.31391650 9.7874 199.1 0.0 -0.0

Which gives the below result

Image

Can someone from the Hong Kong project please take it from there, maybe suggest even better position and place a request for update to the scenery models database ?

I will add the rest of the parking positions, assign the gates and test my RWYUSE over the coming weeks

Initial beta skeleton groundnet available from HERE

Cheers
Ian

The AI traffic around HK also has to be updated as all those cathay jumbos are now gone

Can we use the Terminal one model Omega made? It looks a lot better and is also closer to the real T1

Where can I download this scenery? I want to make a YouTube video for it, the scenery looks incredibly detailed!

That's great! What do you want to work on? Since the project is hosted on gitlab, sign up if you haven't already.

And here some error for some building near VHXX.

Please report the error message.

and when we migrate it to FlightGear default texture?

I'm not quite sure what you mean. If you're asking when this will be part of terrasync -- Stuart et al are working on methods to integrate osm2city scenery into FG.
