Regarding the wordpress website, note that Thorsten is the one who's apparently doing most of this work,

Actually while I do most content, Curt does release announcements and page structure (aka download pages etc.). And Curt already said he's unusually busy, so please be patient.

Particles are fixed but not precipitation. Check your rendering settings and that your pull/recompile or download completed correctly.

it would be good to introduce osg::Switch objects (draw masks) for each of those (particles in general, but also rain/snow etc) - even if just for troubleshooting purposes

Are groundnets working for anyone? While selectable in the launcher, parking positions do nothing at best, and sometimes cause a crash.

that all still needs work... more discussions are likely to take place in a/the 2016.2.0 topic... AFAIK there is no release candidate... the release is 2016.1.1 and it is available now...

if you can, please share your crash reports via the issue tracker (and/or the devel mailing list) - ideally by attaching a gdb backtrace, too

@hooray: the biggest PITA is coming up with decent titles for those crash reports :(

FFGo can place you at any parking position you want, including those from apt.dat.gz in case the groundnet file doesn't define any. With current FG, you have to enable “Fake the --parkpos option” in the Miscellaneous tab of the dialog obtained with Settings -> Preferences. This causes FFGo to translate the --parkpos option into the corresponding combination of --lat, --lon and --heading options to work around the FG bug you encountered.

(in this screenshot, the option is disabled; what you would need with current FG is the opposite state)

AFAIK this has been reported already https://sourceforge.net/p/flightgear/codetickets/1825/ and it still has gotten zero attention, by all means update the bug with some more info or start a new one that explains your issue with parking
I can't report the crash, because the fallback works for me during loading, I end up on active runway

What could be the reason, that I can't search for new aircrafts in the launcher and install them as this should be included now? I of course unchecked 'only show installed aircraft' but it still only shows those I already have...
In addition I can't use several versions of one aircraft: e.g. I can use the 777-200, but when I select the 777-200ER the aircraft field on top of the page is empty and there is no picture any more. Is there anything I could have done wrong?
I simply copied my aircrafts into the new aircraft folder of FG 2016.1.1 and selected this (FG 2016.1.1) as data files location

Yes, the Qt launcher aircraft section worked in 2016.1.0, but is broken in 2016.1.1. I can't, e.g., fly the dhc2 with floats, as the Run button is grayed out when any alternative version of a plane is selected.

Just use FGrun or FGgo. Don't use the default launcher. =]
