Radio Question

Postby potatomon » Fri Feb 19, 2016 9:47 am

Hi. I've just started flying with flightgear and am really enjoying it so far. This might be a newbie question but if I open up my radio stacks panel from equipment->radio settings in any boeing 777, I don't see a com1 or com2. Because of this, I'm not quit sure how to listen in to the ATIS broadcasts. I really appreciate any help!

Hey! I think in the 777 it has been changed to VHF L, VHF C, and VHF R. Cheers!

Lego beat me to it while I was fiddling with my picture, but yes, the VHF radios are used for ATIS:

Image

There are three radios on the centre pedestal: VHF-L, VHF-C and VHF-R, selected for adjustment by one of three buttons (A) on the radio section. Adjust the standby frequency with the knob (B) and press the transfer button (C) to swap standby and active. There is a volume button for each radio (D). Press the volume button to mute/unmute and note the green light.

Obviously electrical power is required, so battery or APU on.

Thanks! I was missing the mute/unmute button. It works now!
