Property Browser: /environment/visibility

An exciting "new" option in FlightGear, that includes reflections, lightmaps, the particle system etc.. A lot is yet to be discovered/implemented!

Property Browser: /environment/visibility

Postby CaptainTech » Sat Jan 16, 2016 2:57 pm

Hello.
I am unable to use the property browser for visibility. Other values might be affected too.
But however, If I set visibility with the property browser, it always jumps back.
If the simulation is paused, I can use the property browser for that, and it does actually work, but unfortionately, it jumps bac whenever I resume the simulation.

I just wanted to note this. That's no important software lack, but maybe somebody wanted to know this.

That's because the property is normally not under user control but set by the weather system. You have to stop the weather system before you can set it.

And other values are affected too - most of the environment in fact :-)

perhaps the OP is looking for this property?
Code: Select all
--prop:/local-weather/config/ground-haze-factor=50

IIRC, the larger the number, the further one can see...
"You get more air close to the ground," said Angalo. "I read that in a book. You get lots of air low down, and not much when you go up."
"Why not?" said Gurder.
"Dunno. It's frightened of heights, I guess."
