Oh so I pay around 100 bucks and I only get 120 aircraft compared to FlightGear's 400? No thanks!

Haha is this bombable?

Their promotional video is entirely made out of shots of FSX!!! How I wish they would get screwed for doing that....

I am not sure Microsoft still cares about their unsupported ancient product. I tried looking for some page or e-mail address where I could report this, but all I could find is about reporting piracy, which isn't really the case -- but nothing about reporting copyright infringement. Maybe someone else can look at this more thoroughly, right now I don't have the time for that :-/

Hi
is there any difference in flightprosim.com and proflightsimulator.com???

The first link has only very old FlightGear screenshots. The second one has only a few FlightGear screenshots and many pictures from some MSFS garbage (don't know if it's FS2004 or FSX). Also the video isn't taken with FG.
So are they one product with different websites or two independent simulators??

Cheers

Something I remember from older forum topics of the subject is that "the vendors" rely on an affiliate program sales concept (or whatever it was). In essence they themselves do not sell it, but a myriad of sales channels/affiliates sells it getting some little provision.

What many of the affiliates do is that they take lazy short cuts to skip work like testing the software at hand, gathering promotional screen shots and videos themselves (note that the affiliates rarely market only one software). Instead they copy stuff from other YouTube videos and screenshots from all over the place. Many flight simulator geeks can differentiate between FlightSimulator X, X-Plane and FlightGear video snippets and screenshots used in those videos.

At one time some years ago one of the videographers on this forum had probably flagged a hundred or so videos partially using snippets from his videos.

As far as I can see, there is an actual open source "Aeron" combat flight simulator project registered on sourceforge, which includes screen shots and files that can be downloaded, apparently developed in Python: http://sourceforge.net/projects/aeron/

I would highly doubt that you can get that screenshot in FlightGear. Especially in 1.9.1 no matter what the name is.

Thanks, I reported there, but as I said I doubt this is a "piracy" case but rather a "copyright infringement" case. Piracy would be if they were selling FSX, copyright infringement is when they use the MS brand and products without authorization (and worse, as if their own).

Hi,
Just had a funy comparison look at both ••• sites.
The OLD one is a PERFECT redesign of the FG homepage. Take what they did and make our version of it!
the NEW one is the over-advertised thing. I've flied on fsx(accel) and RECOGNIZED THE 172! However one screenshot came from fg...
[answer] the Google Msps integration is MPmap,if you look carefully:) [/answer]
There are free alternatives to (almost) every program you encounter. You just have to find them.
