(Sorry for not crossposting more information earlier, I was away from home in the last days).
Summarizing current progress:
- KIWI34 has stated he will be available for any "lower-level" (delivery/ground/tower) position in Japan; IAHM-COL suggested him and T-URBO to choose Chitose/Fukuoka, so as to provide a good coverage for the whole country:
- IAHM-COL also suggested me to place my tower at Chubu instead of Narita (which is already covered by SHM) to be able to follow planes without clashing with the 100 nm MPServer limit:
- As for scenery: SH-M has created a GitHub repository to coordinate work. So far, the 2D layouts for RJOS/RJBD are done and buildings for RJBD are being modeled.
I'll help getting new fixes into the official database.
Regarding IAHM-COL's suggestion of me covering Chubu, that sounds good to me. I plan to control Tokyo Center from about 20 to 00/01 Italian time (so 19 - 23/00 UTC if DST is not in effect) on both days.
I've got some doubts regarding placing an ATC at Hokkaido - I think it's too far from the other airports, and routes from/to it (taking the current ATC "reservations" into account) won't be completely controlled. A similar situation happened during the last edition of the Festival (see e.g. Lydiot's previous posts -
1 and
2). Maybe new, prospective ATCs could fill in delivery/ground/tower positions at already manned airports?
Finally, a note to the scenery modelers:
a new version of WED was released - please update the tool. It contains a couple of validation fixes (especially for signs and taxiway segments) and will become the minimum required version for Gateway uploads in a few days.
