Ok, I fixed the "problem" with the reference to the Super-Frelon. Now it shows up - and it flies! GREAT work! It feels good to fly. Thank you VERY much!

You are right, some things need to be done. To make sure nothing is overseen, I write down, what I noticed yet..
- The tail rotor seems to be too far left.
- The tail "wing" is missing
- Gear is not animated
- The rotorblades are not colored black and white
- The viewpoints in the cockpit seem to be too far up.
- No instruments.. ;)

I will play around with the thing and test it more detailed. Currently it is absolutely awesome!

Kind regards,

frozen

AAARRGGGHHH But of course! Frozen thank you.
I make a copy and paste too often and I ended up forgetting to change the paths :(

That's fixed. Normally I have not forgotten anything.Otherwise, the Super-Frelon is in my hangar too ;)

Well, I took the opportunity to add changes to HHS on the FDM.

So it's still in my hangar. Or direct link : http://helijah.free.fr/flightgear/tar.g ... 009.tar.gz

Great! It feels very good in flight! Easier than I expected! The new view positions are much better!

I'll add some screens to show some things I saw.
Image

and

Image

The bigger circle in the first image and the second image show some weird transparencies. Maybe these can be removed?
The other circle shows an "unconnected part", as the tail rotor is. Looks weird somehow.

The sound is in some views, especially cockpit view, not fitting, as I feel. But I'm afraid we do not have the real sound... ;)

BTW: As far as I know, the rear cabin has complete flight controls in reality. Can these be modeled?

Otherwise it is an awesome work yet! It looks good, it flies good - great! Thank you VERY much, Helijah and HHS!

Can I do something now to make it better? I will look myself for something though.. Maybe I can find out, how to change the color of the rotorblades or something.. ;)

Kind regards,

hi frozen,

lol. Tests the version of this morning (14 02 2009) there are few things more (argh aileron would always miraculously;) )

http://helijah.free.fr/flightgear/tar.g ... 009.tar.gz

The interior should begin to be better. Even if I still have a lot to make this side.

In fact, for once, I try to take my time and make something complete. So it will be quite long;)

Best regards. Emmanuel

Hi Emmanuel,

thank you very much for this new version! It gets better and better all the time!
That aileron still is not connected.. ;)
What can we do about the rotors? They don't look perfect to me yet. What could I do, to make them look better? As far as I could see, nothing, since the textures are defined via the 3d model, right?

The interior needs quite a lot of work, I guess. Would be great, if I could help with this anyhow?

I found a problem, though. Just try to play with the payload and you will see, what I mean. The poor gear.. ;) Also try flying with no payload - I had problems stopping its turning with the pedals, since there was no more room for pressing the pedal deeper.. ;) Maximum input barely was enough to stop the turning...

Kind regards,

The gear is indeed still a problem for me and the turning at startup on the ground is a known bug with YASim. In reality we all know that the heli isn't turning with not pulled pitch control. No idea yet how to turn off.

Edit: no problems here with truning on the ground. the heli odes produce only a bit torque... Before tuning I need the lift and drag cooefficients from NACA 0011- anybody who want to figure it out for me?

I didn't mean the rotating on ground. Just reduce payload to zero and try to fly. ;)

I did- No problems here- do you fly with pedals or keyboard/ mouse?

Twistable joystick. I had the problem, that I had to turn it to the far right, to stop the rotation of the machine. Rotating the machine around for, say, 10 degrees to the right almost needed to rotate the other way round - by twisting the stick just a bit left... ;)
Might be, this results from my setup..

Press H-Key and press twice Shift-i-key for having a visual of the real control inputs. The bar down shows the rudder.

Hi Frozen,

As far as rotors, yet you can not do much of anything. It's just a slightly modified copy of the rotors SuperFrelon, yet.

the texture is the same. UV Map is not yet done so. So it is impossible to prepare a texture now. With regard to the panel, there is certainly the CH53E which is superb, but requires a great deal of work to be usable.

And I must admit that I would prefer a more modern panel like this one :

So of course, if you feel the courage to make some of the instruments, you're welcome;)

Best regards. Emmanuel

Thanks for the info!

It's a pity, I can't do anything helpful yet.. I might try playing around with placing cockpit instruments, but it will be the very first time I do so. So don't rely on me...
