With a hub in Keflavik International Airport, GoldenJet was the only Icelandic airline operating on GEFS-Online, but has moved to FlightGear. The company still retains the title of the only Icelandic airline on FlightGear. GoldenJet was found in 2012 by Maxim Kraft, the current CEO. The airline started out small, with only 5 fleet members and 5 routes. Now, the airline is a good rival to Icelandair and Air Iceland, as-well as a partner with Europe-United Airlines. The airline is highly supportive of a more eco-friendly future, proposing the installation of solar panels on the terminal of Keflavik International Airport, as-well as being the start customer of the Boeing 787-8S, a GoldenJet-proposed Boeing 787-8 with thin-film, super-lightweight solar cells. GoldenJet is also highly acceptive of the removal of a road connection to Keflavik and the installation of a high-speed electric train instead. On August 23rd, 2015, the company initiated a move from GEFS-Online to FlightGear, due to a disassembled community. The company also has a subsidiary, RubyJet, which is currently unavailable for joining.
