Screenshot of the Month, July 2015

Postby MIG29pilot » Tue Jun 30, 2015 5:30 pm

Continuation of the "Entries wanted for screen of the month" Topic for July.
Slightly revised rules:
1. 15 entries, of course,
2. No more than 2 each (to give everyone a fighting chance of entering)
3. You may enter one extra for somebody else. This does not decrease their entries.
4. Please Convert to jpg from png (plenty of converters online)
5. Has to be taken with FlightGear with an airplane somewhere in it
6. Cannot be modified afterwards, except for crop & re-size.

You may use custom or homemade features and scenery.
If you have any questions, send me a PM.

I like the top one, but the bottom one is not so good. Consider revising it, zoomed in a bit, and not looking up at the plane, but kind of 90° in relating to top bottom? So you can see neither top nor bottom of the wing?
Otherwise, good work!

Consider using anti-aliasing when taking screenshots. I find that for my customized settings adding a slight bit of anti-aliasing will only cost me a couple of frames per second (I usually have between 10 to 25 depending mainly on resolution, view range, scenery complexity and shaders in that order).

You can add anti-aliasing by adding these lines to your preferences override xml file:

Code: Select all
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
 <PropertyList>
  <!-- ... -->
  <sim>
    <!-- ... -->
    <rendering>
      <!-- ... -->

      <!-- Anti-aliasing -->
      <multi-sample-buffers type="bool" userarchive="y">true</multi-sample-buffers>
      <multi-samples type="int" userarchive="y">2</multi-samples>

      <!-- ... -->
    </rendering>
    <!-- ... -->
  </sim>
  <!-- ... -->
</PropertyList>

I really like the Beaver Screenshot :D
Maybe you want do redo it with updated Scenery from TNCM, where the flooded runway has been fixed?
The fix is from legoboyvdlp and can be downloaded here

You're getting better performance with a laptop than I am with a desktop!
