Thank you very much Soitanen.
I tested and it works very well again.
I love this plane. It is not as easy to fly as the 777 , it is always a challenge to fly it from A to B and land in a peace. Landing it after a flight of 4H00 gives always that little dose of adrenaline and when you turn off the engines at the gate, you say phew...

Thanx

Congratulations! Looks like you've found the perfect job! How did you manage to get it? Looking forward to a photo-realistic 737-800 cockpit in FG ;)

I have found a note on one Russian forum about flight simulators, that company is hiring personell. And, due to my zero 3d-modelling skill I'm not sure, that photo-realistic cockpit will appear soon :) after cockpit it's hard for me to fly with joystick and mouse in left hand :) But I like JSBSim dynamics much more, than X-Plane.

Hello Michael,

I have a serious problem at Bergen-Flesland (ENBR) today.

Whilst the flying conditions are "excellent" (read: Challenging!) the stall clacker seems to be running amok, with the aircraft cold and shut down.

This was due to stickshaker sound logic - if airspeed more then 20kt, sound can be. Now I have changed logic, while air-ground sensor feels ground stickshaker sound will not engage. Fix in the repo.

Thanks a lot!
It was driving me mad during pre-flight planning :-)

No, not abandoned.
Split really. Soitanen has one version, sorry but I've not followed those versions as he's updated and have no information as to what he has done or is planning.

E-pilot - the originator of this effort and this thread has another constantly updating version.

http://www.aesoft.net/temp/737-300.zip

These two versions are vastly different planes. E-pilots now has a custom hud, the mouse wheel operates dials, the tire sounds work better now, the ILS capture is much better now, ( watch the MFD to know when to LOC and GS-glideslope capture ) and the radios on the center console work and the various volume knobs too and loads of other improvements.

If you are using a version of flightgear that is 3.0 or later you will need to open instruments.xml and un-comment the comm 0 and comm 1 definition to hear ATIS, otherwise the plane works as is in 2Series flightgears.

Please read that again :)

Wow! I didn't catch latest e-pilot's progress, but seems that he still using old dynamics and wrong autopilot code. My version (currently it's uploaded into FGAddon repository) have realistic autopilot behaviour, very good autoland, correctly working autobrake system and many other enhacements. But, for example, 3D dials on aft electronic panel is not working, as on current e-pilots version. But whole pedestal represents not 737 Classic version. I can't find on bitmap EFIS controls, but they must be there.

Yes Soitanen, that is what I wanted to point out.Your version is much more up do date, feels much more realistic (I am not a real pilot and have never flown in real, but I can compare to some other commercial Sim).
I would advise anyone to use yuour version of the 733 (Your, git rep. and FGAddon).

It's true, soitanen's will be closer to real than epilots.

The original version, everyone knows, is a disaster.
The Epilot version is the most intuitive for a flightgear user. If you are someone that just wants a good flight in a nice plane, with out having to read a lot of documentation, use the epilot version because it will work the way flightgear users expect.
The soitanen version is for someone hoping to get the most realistic flight of a 737 currently available.

Time to get this nice aircraft back to the air ;)

After being in contact with Soitanen, I started editing und improving the B737-300 some time ago.

After some clean-up I started with a new and fully functional pedestal. I just finished the 2 com panels with 8,33khz grid.

Image

The next almost fininshed item is a functional transponder panel.

The aircraft is currently available here: https://github.com/ltoenning/737-300

As a longtime goal I also want to upload the aircraft back to FGAddon after some major parts are fininshed.
