Here is a new release from the MD-902. The model is made by Marco F (mandun). And Heiko Schulz helped with the FDM for the new release. The MD-902 is licenced under the GPL 2 license.

Be careful with licensing "mandun's" models. This guy just claims models from other authors. I had some legal issues with him on SketchUp 3D Warehouse.

I think he used this model from 3dcadbrowser.com: http://www.3dcadbrowser.com/download.aspx?3dmodel=62495 these models are free.

I had a look at their Models and found my Ford GPA Model (amphibious Jeep) there, which I have never uploaded there. And I guess Helijah should have a look there too. I noticed at least his B-24 Model within their Downloads. The Terms of Use say nothing about GPL License for both Models. I'd say using Models from there may be ... dangerous.

I guess it can be summed down to this:

Avoid downloading models from any web sites that do not list both of these two very important data for each model:
  • Original author (or current maintainer)
  • License for reuse and redistribution

It would seem that in any other cases one need to be cautious. Consider that most works in most jurisdictions are automatically copyrighted. Thus one could assume that any work without a license (or a copyright statement for that matter) is fully covered by copyright (in essence not allowing reuse). :|

Here is my pre-release from the updated MD902 Explorer: https://github.com/MV-DP/md900 (now it's on my own GitHub account)

Changes with older version:
+ Equipment added
+ More liveries
+ Cabin model
+ Animated doors
+ Cockpit layout
+ Some model improvements

Some things aren't finished yet:
- Cabin (textures, more variants, more)
- Cockpit (switches, textures, instruments, canvas, more)
- Liveries (still working on these MD902 livs: G-SASO, G-WPAS, G-YPOL, HB-ZKE, JA6908, N9201U, N368PA, OE-XMM, PK-OCS)
- Equipment (floats (some finetuning), searchlight's, FLIR?, winch?)

Have fun !!!

Looks good! Flies great, and the cockpit looks A+.
You should probably close the wiper_action function in wiper.nas though. =]

I'll try it out!

Note that I can't fly heli's for more than about 10mins before I crash them :(

But it looks fun!

Hi Martien,

A super heli. It has been my favourite since you included my local Police livery.

All the add-ons which change with each livery make this a special piece of work.

Well done and thanks for the update.

Cheers,

Hello Martien, will you be continuing anymore development on this craft? Flies nice, i wondered if the displays would be finished. I know its above my pay grade but since I like the model I have to ask. ;)

Hi Steve, Yes I'll be continuing development on this helicopter. Lately didn't have time to develop things for FlightGear. But soon I'll be back with some new things and even some other helicopters are planned. The displays will be made working in near future I hope.
