Hi All

This thread can be used to discuss topics related to repositories located in FGMEMBERS

How to download, How to clone. How to fork. How to develop. How are our "Development Teams", How to join, Why join?

Any question related to these repositories of the amazing Flightgear Aircraft, feel free to post below
If we gave everybody in the World free software today, but we failed to teach them about the four freedoms, five years from now, would they still have it? Probably not, because if they don’t recognise their freedoms, they’ll let their freedoms fall

Hi there! I have downloaded FlightGear 3.5 (31/05/15) and I would now like to use FGMEMBERS. Can you tell me how to start from scratch and end up with every FGMEMBER plane? Also can I specify which branch of certain airvraft to "git submodule init" when I do all planes at once?

Eg. I "init" all planes and specify that DHC6 be init in branch hotfix?

I need to update that FGMEMBERS wiki
But

Maybe add --depth 1 for a faster, smaller download?

It's quite a no good idea.
It will prevent the easily updating your copy with git pull

(and you will not be able to get new submodules either!)

A rather cold one albeit! Thanks! Flights were great, Business Class was very nice, even though the seats were the old ones. Lesson No 1 to getting cheap Business-- Get a Venezuelan bank account. :) Due to the exchange rate we got a 3forthepriceof1.

End Off Topic.

It is now 800MB's later, although 39%. Seems like the other 400MB are a big percent!

yes.
Do not trust the % in git downloads
They are related to number of objects. No size in bytes, i Believe

What about like Bombable, Merlion ACARS, GVA Acars? Can I add "addons" to the fgdata I got without it deleting them when I pull or anything?

Brief answer
Yes. you can add stuff to the aircraft.

Long but very important answer. Not on the FGDATA folder. But with FGMEMBERS repositories.

I will detail the info much later
(maybe tomorrow)

Too bad. So Sad. Your Dad. :P
But seriously, is there a workaround at all (tomorrow) so I can use MVA, GVA, and Bombable Addons?
Right now downloading all the Boeings-- but 7* didn't work for anything 7xx-yyy so have to do them manualy. It worked for anything 7zz.
