I downloaded the fgx file, but there are no instructions in the read-me...
Favorite Planes on FG: F-14, A-10, A-4, A-6, F-18, Cessna Skymaster, MiG-21, MiG-15, Mirage 2000, and the B-1B.

Must be a readme :(

Now there is an sticky post that explain future fg release will include a multiplatform launcher.

i want to reinstall flightgear 2.4 but i keep getting error massages. and when i tried your flightgear launcher it says " Program Failed This program had a problem when launching the system or when the application was being used."

Hey.

FlightGear 3.4 has a launcher so just click the FlightGear icon and it should launch FlightGear.

That being said, the 'FlightGear Launcher' app does not support 3.4 (I could fix it in 30 min but I don't see the demand for it). If you want it to support though, tell me and I'd do it.

Cheers,

Unfortunately, you have the perfect storm of an app and OS that aren't compatible, plus a computer that's too weak to run the app properly. For FG versions earlier than 3.4 to work under Yosemite, you have to launch FG from the command line, because the old Launcher requires an OS library that no longer exists in OS X 10.10.

FG 3.4.1 (the latest version) really wants more than 4GB of RAM and better video than Intel onboard. It should run, poorly, if you reduce the visual effects to minimum, don't use graphically-heavy planes like the 777 or C172P, and stay away from KSFO or other complex scenery. Multiplayer won't be any fun if it exposes you to other users flying fat airliners.

Or you could give up and buy a high-end iMac, like I did. Or pick up a used PC, buy RAM and a 2 GB video card, and use it only for FG.

You've already posted about this in another thread. It's best not to post the same question in multiple threads, as it makes it harder for people to help you.

If you are really desperate, I think you could make a separate partition on your HD and install a previous OS version to run the earlier version of FG.
