Ok, I reorganized the liveries.

Here is another thing: can't I add issues to that GitHub repository? That's the best way to keep track of every single small problem (and large ones) we find. E.g., I wanted to add an issue that the parking brake should be on by default (currently it isn't).

Cheers

I would say its great to start having the "issues" list filed. And if someone says: I am taking care of issue #X, that's a good way to manage our resources in a cooperative way.

If you feel like it, go for it :D

In my case, I am going to send 2 commands over the whole repository, that organize the file structure

Code: Select all
find . -exec dos2unix {} \;
find . -type f -exec chmod 644 {} \;

The commit will be "Formal File structure"

Best,
IH-COL

I meant that it looks like issues are not enabled in that repository, so I can't create them :(

create the issue on FGMEMBERs one

You can't create issues on "the fork"

:)

https://github.com/FGMEMBERS/727-230

mmm ... that's interesting! :D

Let me think about it. Maybe we can switch who's fork :) (I rememberd a tv show named "who's boss"

Forget about all I said above

Just googling in one sec gave me this:
http://programmers.stackexchange.com/qu ... n-the-fork

Meaning we are now good to go :D

And one last comment: probably it would be better to rename this thread, remove the poll and edit the first comment to tell people what is going on. In that comment, adding a picture of the plane and the link to the repository would also be good.

Cheers!

@IAHM-COL: Good idea, I'll do this as soon as I've got time.

Just one question: What's the active fork, the FGMEMBERS one or IAHM-COL's ?

IAHM-COLs

FGMEMBERS just copies from it automatically every certain time

Hi all,

I created a new paintkit in a single file which contains the fuselage (not cut like before), tail and wings (up and down). The file is located in the folder Paintkit. If you like the new layout, feel free to apply it to the 3D model so I can start working on the liveries. See my last commit.

Cheers,
Gilberto

EDIT: forgot to mention that there are lots of white space in the centre of the file. This can be used to add textures used for other external objects that are either currently untexturized or which have a separate file (like the chrome.png). Possible examples are: fan blades, wheel textures, etc. So that's not a wasted space, ok?

And by the way, here is one more thought. We have already an amazing 707 in FlightGear, and its panel and 3D cockpit is gorgeous:

Now have a look at a typical 727 panel:

Pretty similarly looking, aren't them? So I propose we don't reinventing the wheel and that we reuse some of those 3D objects, textures, instruments, etc.
