Hi Gijs,
I tried to do a merge request to fgdata, but gitorious would not cooperate. I put the updated CDU files here: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/266 ... ikibar.tgz. If you wouldn't mind committing them, that would be great!
Cheers,
John

Just a short update. I've merged most of your changes to the generic CDU, except for the NAV RADIO page's. The 744 FCOM does not display the standby frequencies there like you coded (with <-> texts etc.). Did you base it on some other aircraft, or is it a fictional setup?

In the mean time, I've converted it to use Canvas, added a couple of additional features. And best of all, I've found a nice GPL font that resembles the actual one to a very high degree! I hope to push it to Git tomorrow, pending your answer to the question above ;-)

Yeah... that NAV RADIO page was made up by me a long time ago as an experiment. I don't use it anymore and forgot it was there.

Thanks for taking care of it, Gijs. I'm looking forward to checking out the new canvas version. One question about it: will it be possible/easy to control the text color? The older Boeing CDU is in green. For the 747-8, it's a soft easy-on-the-eyes light blue/gray.

Great news, Gijs!

I'm currently after moving house and temporarily unavailable to work on 733, but will continue improvement as soon as possible.

Sorry for the delay guys. I've teamed up with James in the mean time, resurrecting his CDU ideas and code from last year, and I think it's worth waiting for :-)
Below you can see a teaser of the CDU dialog. I'll open a new topic and wiki article once it's ready for public use.

Looks great! Would you need a new 3d model for the CDU, perhaps? I could model you one ;)

I already can't wait for the update...
Thank you all for the work you put in this more and more realistic aircraft, and thank you for making us enjoy every moment we fly with it.

I just downloaded the 737-300 and its really nice. Some of the things i would like to see are:
-Wheels currently do not rotate/turn on ground - this would add extra realism
-More realistic engine sounds if possible.

About wheel rotating animations - I almost didn't touch animations at all. Only few things to make realistic deflection angles of control surfaces and nosegear. I really think, that aircraft must be re-modelled (100% for cockpit, and deep tuned for outside model). But adding rotating wheels is not so hard, so I will do it on present model.
About sound - current sound is made from MSFS sound pack, used 4 different samples for different N1 range and different sound for outside. Also you can try to hear another soundpack - set /b733/sound/sound-pack in property tree to value 0 (default) or 1 (another MSFS pack, but not finished full conversion, just for try).

I think the wheels are the least important thing, and regards the sound effects that Soitanen implanted is a thousand times better than what was before.
Of course I am speaking of the guit downloadable version here https://github.com/soitanen/737-300/archive/master.zip.
The most needed improvements would be a general improvement in the model, like the little gap between the stabilizers are small annoying details.

Soitanen did a great great job on this aircraft especially in the fluidity of flight and an hard work on the autopilot and this is the best 737 FGFS has ever had.

Speaking of wheels/animations - during replay gear isn't retracted!
