A330neo Release?

Postby patstan » Wed Jul 16, 2014 2:30 pm

Hi Guys!

As you maybe aware, the A330neo is an extension of the A330 and is set to come into service on 2017 approximately.

I would love to see this get developed in Flightgear too.

I would like to hear your thoughts!

I hope so. It has a larger wing span and is supposed to be more fuel efficient!

As the A330 and A320neo (and new/upcoming FG A380) developer, I'd definitely love to develop the A330neo. :D

But first, I need to finish my new A380, the cockpit and instrumentation is similar to that of the A330neo. :)

Indeed. As you already have the A330 model, only a few tweaks need to made. For example, the wing extention etc

Well, we need to make a new cockpit and tweak the systems to work with the new cockpit. (Very similar to the new A380 cockpit though, except the displays have been moved around/merged a bit)

The A330neo will have Rolls Royce Trent 7000 engines, the same sharklets than the A350XWB, longer wings and also a full LED cabin. The cockpit will not change.NEO means new engine option not new aircraft.
Developing it will not be easy.

Developing it will be easy enough. It just needs new engines and winglets.
We're very busy with the A330-200 at the moment, but once we release it, we might have a look at the 330neo. Cheers!

Thank you for your answer. I will try to develop the A330-900Neo personally but i can not promise that it will be done quickly! I haven't got much time. I will try to work on the engine and wings soon.

I will try to combine the A330 from FG and from X plane. The engine is easy because it is already existing and the same thing for the sharklet. The only thing i won't do is to update the data.
