New A300-600 (Download in first Post)

Hi everyone.
I am currently developing an A300-600. I will be using many parts of Saschas A310-300, as these are very similar aircraft. I recently discovered that i can even use the same engines, just i need to "uprate" them in power, but the fan/engine diameter is the same.
There will eventually be 2 variants, the A300-603 with General Electric CF6-80C2A3 engines and a -622 with Pratt&Whitney PW4158.
anyway here are some blender screenshots of my model:
Image

and don't you just love those A306 wingtip fences

Image
Anyway wish me luck as this is my first attempt at a plane and I'll probably be posting for help soon.
First up, how do you turn anti-aliasing on in blender? i cant seem to make it work

Anyway, here's the link

Just got done changing all the files over so now its officially its own aircraft. The model needs heaps of work yet and for some reason the engines don't show up in flight gear.
I changed the FDM file to show A300-600 weights, length, wing area and such and also uprated the engines (only General Electric so far) to the required thrust. I think the flight dynamics are really good (much like the A310), and even the sound works:-) One funny thing is i didn't change animation axis on the landing gear and tail surfaces which are strait from the A310 (which they are in real life too) so the wheels currently have some interesting movement:-)

Ok here we are in flight gear!!!
Image
This is the cockpit from the A310 which was originally from the A300-600ST Baluga
Image

I stopped developing my own wing because the A300-600ST has the same wing and is very well done. I decided i might as well just use that one. The only problem is that the beluga is wider so the wings don't quite touch the fuselage. So i will need to work on that, and also to get the engines to display.

Could someone tell me, in the flight dynamics model, which weight do you use when it asks for weight? I put MTW and then when it said payload i but Max payload. I DID uprate the engines to actual A306 thrust, but when i fill the plane completely full in flightgear it won't lift off. I think it probably meant for me to give it Operating Empty Weight. Right?

Looks good :-)

What happened to the engines?
If you want, I could adjust my A310 paintkit to the A300. This should not be much work due to the high compatibility.

Thanks.

I changed all the engine names, eg from PW4156A to PW4158. I think i must not have changed in one .xml, and so they dont show up. the engines "FDM" files work as it seems to have the right amount of thrust. I'll fix that soon.

As far as the paintkit i was thinking the same thing, especially as the tail sections and gear are still textured properly.

I am currently working on animations, I have already got the Ailerons and Flaps done. Do you know if the inboard aileron drops when the flaps are lowered? i think it does.

The computer i'm developing on currently has no antivirus so that is why i'm not posting screen shots, im posting on a different computer :D

Here it is in landing roll config (flaps full, ground spoilers raised)

And here with full left aileron.

It is just an A310 livery now, if you tell me how to make my model available I would be happy for you to alter the A310 paint kit!
You can see how i took the A310 nose, gear, and tail surfaces, because the texture still fits on those.
Back on the spoiler hinges, thats how they are on the real A306, i check this one out:-)

Is there a way to make it so the spoilers only go up on an aileron command, not down through the wing? I'm sure there is:-)

As soon as i (or Sascha) retexture it I could almost release it, Providing i know how.
All the research im doing on this plane it is quickly becoming my favourite aircraft;-)

I've done some research on the flap system, apparently there are four stages (configs): Slats/Flaps 15/0 15/15 15/25 15/30 or something like that, i know that the first config is only slats and drooped aileron.

Just finished animating the wings. I download the Airbus Flight Crew Operating Manual, and it tells me this:
config 1= slats 15, drooped aileron 10deg, flaps 0
config 2= slats 15 drooped aileron 10deg, flaps 15
config 3= slats 15, drooped aileron 10 deg, flaps 20
config 4= slats 30, drooped aileron 10 deg, flaps 40
inflight spoilers = spoilers 1,2,3,4,5
speedbrake= All spoilers
Aileron= aileron+ spoilers 3,4,5,6,7

it was really fun seeing it all working in the end, I had to "reload Aircraft model" approximately a billion times but its working now;-)

Nice job! Would it be possible to keep a freighter version of this aircraft similar to the A300F4-605R that FedEx deploys?

Sounds like a good idea......
i only have one version now The A300B4-603R In flightgear its the A300-603, after i get everything else sorted then i will work on different models;-)
The original plan was to have a -622 P&W and a -603 GE but a Freighter sounds like a good idea to me:-)
