Hi qhfreddy again,

I just checked on Andino's 707, which gives me quite a natural feel. It seems to be weight balanced (center of gravity) for center trim at 250-260 IAS. This is through all flight levels. Also when flying mach 0.80 at fl 380 which is about IAS 250.

Maybe that is a good starting point. And modify other parameters after that to achieve better pitch at landing.

Kind regards, Vincent

Let's the official download remain at the link in the first post, and slowly we could incorporate corrections made to the FDM, with caution.

Got two interesting films on youtube.

This one illustrates the pitch profile in landing as i described. Watch the horizon from minute 3, just before the gear goes down. Then the plane flies level and slow towards the glide slope (200 kts or less). Notice the pitch up. Just after the gear goes down, they enter glide slope. The nose goes down to level pitch. While slowing down during descent the pitch goes up again quite soon. At some instances it goes to level shortly. That must be the moments when more flaps are put in. At no instance there is negative pitch.

The other one illustrates that the plane is just an ordinary plane that can tail strike if the pilot wants to (the pilot was very close here). There are no special properties about the plane that makes it land flat per definition.

Ok, I'll try moving the wing further forward, maybe another metre or so, and adjust the approach stats.

Do you have any idea on the cruie attitude? AoA wise mainly, because anything above 2 deg nose up seems like it would be rather inefficient.

Or should I move the CG back?
Damn flared too long...

Hello qhfreddy,

If you move the wing then it is not the same plane anymore visually. I think the wing should be where it is like on the real aircraft. CG may be changed a bit back (if possible in yasim), until you get neutral trim at around 260 kts.

I would not worry about pitch-up at higher altitudes. It is normal for a plane to have some degrees nose-up. I do not have the numbers for the a340, but 2-4 degrees is not uncommon. Pumping fuel into the tail at cruise may have a positive effect on this pitch. It has at least a positive effect on getting the trim more neutral.

[EDIT] Do the settings and testing with empty tail tank. It is a trimming device at cruise, so should not be used when setting normal behaviour [/EDIT]

Kind regards, Vincent

Hey folks,

what I noticed is, that the center wheels of the main gear are too far behind the others…
They have to be in one line if you watch it from the side…

Is it possible to have that changed ? Or how can I do so ??

@ Surpii, I think this is the -600 and not the -600HGW. This aircraft still in developpemment and is not on the official repo yet.
@ ja sam niko, you're welcome

So no author problem ?

@surpii

You have the latest version of a different aircraft. There are two different A346. The Liam's normal A340-600 and this one. This one is A340-600HGW. The difference is quite a big one. Engine sounds, different FDM,different cockpit and so. Download this one and you will see.

I have the A340-600 HGW. Last Modified 1/11/2014.

I didn't know that the A340-600 in my link was different, I'm going to try it out :)

Update: I tried it out and it doesn't work.
