SuperBuild git submodule update

Building FlightGear from source, and in the need for help?

SuperBuild git submodule update

Postby rreiter » Sun Mar 02, 2014 3:59 am

I've been trying to learn more about git on the 'web and am a bit confused about updating my local Superbuild fgmeta to match gitorious next.
It seems when it comes to submodules there are varying opinions.

I started with git clone --recursive git://gitorious.org/fg/fgmeta.git (and then git checkout next).

So later to bring all my SuperBuild sources up to date (Win 8.1/64 git bash 1.8.4+) which is best (or correct) for FlightGear ?

git submodule update --init --recursive ?
or
git submodule update --remote --merge ?
or
something else

thanks,
RR
