KLAX Crashing.

Postby xdega » Tue Feb 18, 2014 2:13 am

This has been a persistent error since 2.12. I am able to load up the airport (and see the visuals), but about 5 seconds later the client crashes.
I am not sure what the problem is, but haven't seen it reported. Here is the command line:
Code: Select all
D:/FlightGear/bin/Win32/fgfs.exe
  --fg-root=D:/FlightGear/data
  --fg-scenery=D:\FlightGear\data\Scenery;D:\FlightGear\scenery;D:\FlightGear\terrasync
  --airport=KLAX
  --runway=07R
  --aircraft=f-14b-bs
  --control=joystick
  --console
  --disable-random-objects
  --prop:/sim/rendering/random-vegetation=false
  --enable-horizon-effect
  --enable-enhanced-lighting
  --enable-ai-models
  --enable-ai-traffic
  --disable-real-weather-fetch
  --enable-clouds3d
  --enable-fullscreen
  --geometry=1920x1200
  --bpp=32
  --texture-filtering=16
  --enable-rembrandt
  --timeofday=morning
  --enable-terrasync
  --disable-fgcom

I am running Windows 8.1, with Nvidia GeForce GTX 650. and FGFS V. RC5
There are no apparent errors reported in the crash report, and I do not see a black console window.

Has anyone heard of this bug? Any idea where to begin troubleshooting?
thanks.

32bit or 64 bit? Can you monitor memory consumption - several recent crashes were memory-related and KLAX is probably unusually heavy.

I am running 64bit at the moment, but have encountered this error in 32bit also.
Further information, my graphics card has 1GB of memory, and I have 8GB of RAM.

I also don't see anything on the crash report about memory error, as I have done with other crashes.
This could be a problem, because if that is the case, the crash report is probably not very telling, although I submit the report every time.

OK, it actually appears to be working now in 64bit. Turns out the executable it was trying to run was the 32bit.
