Honza, thank you for the links, I have already downloaded full techdata folder from pulsaraviation site.
From last book (I read that before New Year too) I have interesting graph:
Image
Signature says, that Boeing in graph is 737-800, but really written by pencil there is 737-300. And numbers from that graph about 737-300 matches with my numbers, that I have posted some time ago! But I have question: what is U/C UP and U/C DOWN on that graph?

Updates in github repo:
- ASI now shows minimal speed 45 kt (as seen on may photos on airliners.net). Also repositioned 0 position of needle. For further development I need help from 3D modeller: mach readout less than 0.40 must be blanked (I need blanker model), needle is textured wrong, and texture of ASI itself is aligned slightly bad.
- new fuel system written on JSBSim. Now fuel pump switches on overhead really select fuel tanks. Also crossfeed valve is presented and can be operated via property tree (/controls/fuel/crossfeed). No LOW PRESSURE lights is imitated, but it's easy to do. In this issue I need help from 3D modeller too: make crossfeed valve selector.

I have made first implementation of canvas ND (because it's looking better, that present EHSI):
Image

Strange thing - ND for co-pilot is not shown... And I can't understand why. All things, that I think, are properly written. Even I can click on co-pilots ND and canvas window will pop-up, and it will be different from captains ND (if make some changes). If I turn on Ctrl-C (to show possible click spots), than captains ND will be rounded, but co-pilots not. Strange. Also, I have not inserted any of ND controls, because aft electronic panel need to be redone - currently there is no place to put EHSI controls.

Hey folks,

really nice plane so far, but it´s still difficult to fly, because a center dot is missing in the primary flight display.
So you don´t know exactly in which situation the plane is during flight.
In an earlier Version the not working F/D has shown it :D…. but now it seems to work :D

How can this be fixed ?

Start of working FD bars is mine experiment. If engage VS mode, it tries to help to maintain pitch angle.
I want to include another EADI, which will be made in Canvas, based on 747 PFD or so. As I know, zakalawe will try to make it, after he will be more free after FG release.

Please, help!

I have uploaded another soundpack for engine. I need to know your opinion, which sound to make default.

How to test?
1. Update git repo via git pull or download fresh pack from github https://github.com/soitanen/737-300.git
2. Run FG. Soundpack can be switched on-the-fly.
3. Open property-tree ("/" key). Find /b733/sound/sound-pack.

By default it equals 0 - default sound.
Set it 2 - it will be another sound for engines (not for starter yet), different from inside and outside.
Also try soundpack 1 - it's unfinished, because I like soundpack #2 more. Work just internal sound.

So, what sound is better?

As I recall the original authors put conditions for display of the co-pilots instruments depending on the currently active view number. If you switch to co-pilot view mode does the ND display properly?

I have plan, that co-pilot's EADI & EHSI will work from NAV2 data, as it is in real life. But NavDisplay framework do not allow this feature at the moment.
Also I have strange bug with right EHSI: it is placed in cockpit, it can be clicked to show it in separate window, it have different control (left & right EHSI shows different pictures), but ND is not rendered properly in cockpit.
Now I'm redoing autopilot, to match it for real life operation. It almost done now (LNAV & VNAV modes are not available due to full fms Missing).

Edit: review question - my idea, that instrument indication does not depends on current view. You can see different readings on left and right from any place.

Hello!

After long time I'm ready to introduce fully reworked autopilot. Now it works like real one (based on FCOM, real pilot's advices, AMM).
It have now two independent FCC (flight control computers), which really uses different inputs (from captains or FOs instruments).
I have prepared proper indication for EADI's FMA, but as I don't have Canvas based EADI it can be viewed only from property tree (see /autopilot/display/).
Also there are proper computation which FCC is master at the moment, and EADI FD shows master value. But if it's APP mode it can show different (as in reality). But current 3D model of MCP doesn't allow me to illuminate green light to show master FCC.
Helper feature added: when AT is engaged and throttles are moving, you can view AT position and your joystick throttle position - this can help to set proper throttle before disconnecting AT. You can turn off this feature in property tree (/b733/at-helper).

How to take-off now: Set V2 on MCP. Turn on both FDs. First turned FD must be on pilot flying side. Arm AT. Advance throttles forward to have about 40% N1, then press 'd' key - it's TO/GA button. FD must show command pitch -10 degrees. At 60 kts it will show +15 degrees, after take-off it will help to maintain V2 (MCP SPEED) + 20 kts.
How to autoland: tune BOTH NAV radios to localizer. Set course for localizer in left and right MCP windows. Point aircraft to intercept localizer in HDG SEL or LNAV mode. Press APP button - VOR/LOC and G/S modes will be armed. Engage second autopilot. After localizer and glideslope capture, if radar altitude will be not less than 800 ft FLARE mode will be armed and second autopilot couples with flight control. Arm spoilers ('k' key, Spolers armed message must appear on screen). At 50 ft FLARE maneuver will start, at 27 ft AT start to RETARD. Don't forget to move your real joysticks throttle to idle too or spoilers can be not deployed.

If you will find bugs in autopilot logic, please, post it here, I will solve them.

Known bugs:
- VNAV is not working at all, just empty button.

You can update 737-300 git repo from github or download it directly from github page (see my signature for link, right part of page, "Download ZIP" button)

Hello Soitanen,

I've followed your work on the 737-300 and I can only congrat for such a great work, speacialy on the autopilot.
I want to ask you if it possible to implant your autopilot code on the 737NG700. I love the aircraft but the autopilot is far away to be as smooth as your new improved one.
Is there a way?

About porting to 737NG: yes, I have written autopilot code, that is independent on FDM (not fully). So I have in plans to improve 737NG series too. But at first I want to create more complex Classic series - electrical system, hydraulics, radios and most comlex for me now FMS-CDU.

Just now downloaded the ZIP file and extracted it into my $FG_AIRCRAFT path. When loading the model with FGRun it complains about a missing file 'Fuel.xml' in 737-300/Models/Services/Fuel/. And indeed the file is there, just with lowercase 'f'. Fixing the filename makes it load, so if you could make that change in the repo as well? That would be great.

The last time I had a visit here, it seemed I had downloaded a different 737 than offered here. Actually there had been an older version been around, which I thought that was the version of e-pilot. I'm a shame....

Well, I really be happy to see the new version of Soitanen here! Finally a very realistic autopilot, which works like the real one! :D

I'm not sure yet about the vspeeds- needs some more testing. But finally a step forward towards something which I do know from other serious sims like X-Plane!

Thanks, FGFS will be fun to me again!
