Initial FlightGear / OsgEarth integration

osgEarth renders the terrain scene by building the textured geometry at runtime from raw source imagery and elevation data.

Hi & welcome,

it cannot find the caching plugin, which is probably because of something mentioned a few pages back, see :http://forum.flightgear.org/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=21351&start=30#p194498

This error occurs when I enable osgEarth, not at compile time.

Sorry for my bad english.

Did you update the files in fgdata? There are new files in FGROOT/Scenery and some extra configuration files. See this post: viewtopic.php?f=6&t=21351&p=194788#p194788

I applied the patch minimum, but I'll download the entire folder at night, maybe that's the problem.
Thanks for the help.

read my posting again, the same thing happened to me (and others, including ludomotico) and we were able to solve it as described - it does happen at runtime, but it's due to compilation settings - thus, you need to override LD_LIBRARY_PATH accordingly. Trust me, been there and done it - in fact, I was the first person to experience this issue and poweroftwo helped me troubleshoot this back then.

Can you tell me how to do this?
I'm a little lost, do not speak English very well.
Can you show me what is the command?

Thank You.

I tried this but it did not work:

env LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/usr/local/lib64 fgfs --fg-root=/mnt/sda2/data2.12/ --airport=LERS --aircraft=ufo

Try it without the env at the beginning.

LERS? Really? This is my home airport!

I don't think this is going to be solved with a LD_LIBRARY_PATH. If I understood correctly, you can run the simulator and the error only appears after you activate osgEarth. In my opinion, this means that either your fgdata has some configuration file missing, or your osgEarth library was compiled without filesystem support. Try to build again osgEarth (including the cmake part!) and check for any error messages.

Still did not work, the scenery of the TerraSync works normally active when the error occurs osgEarth scenery and not charging.

volneyrock,

If you have a working version of fgdata, you might try to patch your current fgdata with this small download that includes all necessary osgEarth files.

I've done that, my fgdata was 2.12, is that the problem is this?
