The Old Frontier

Postby E-Savageair » Tue Oct 14, 2008 4:19 am

Hello,

I stumbled into one of my old "Airliners" magazine and found a cool sight: a 737 dressed in an 1978 Frontier airline livery. :)
I thought "This would be cool to paint" so I got started and there's the result.

Okay, okay, they were 737-200's and the airline went with DC-9's because Boeing took awhile bring in 737-300's, and yes today's Frontier
flies Airbuses so there was some liberty taken here. I still have some cleaning with the plane "junk" on the wings and the color placement and
all but please let me know what you think. :)

but why does it say 737-300/391???

Anyways, nice repaint. We seriously need to get our hands on a DC-9.

Frontier's 737-200 were like other airliners that go by their airline's customer number which was 737-291, Had Frontier bought the 737-300 instead of DC-9's the number would have been 737-391. :) 91 was Frontier's customer number from Boeing.

I didn't mean that you know. But why did GIJS say that's not a B737-300? I thought it is.

The plane on the screenshots is a 737-300, but the plane, used by Frontier Airlines is not a 737-300. They never used the -300.
