Where are FGData objects stored?

Postby Crash » Sun Jan 05, 2014 6:33 pm

Hello.
I'm using the download_and_compile script to install Flightgear 2.12. I'm trying to download fgdata and I've got a less then great internet connection so I'm seeing this a lot...

fatal: read error: Connection reset by peer8 GiB | 1 KiB/s
fatal: early EOF
fatal: index-pack failed

So I restart the script and try again. I've been clicking on different folders and checking properties looking for an increase in content size, but I'm not seeing numbers that convince me I'm storing anything, so I'm probably not understanding how it's working, because it looks like everytime I run the script to download fgdata, I'm starting from the beginning and downloading all the same information over again. Could someone tell me whether or not this is a cumulative process? ( I'd imagine it would be. And what folder(s) is fgdata objects being stored in? (I'm thinking it would be Flightgear/fgfs/flightgear/src, but not sure. This download has taken days and if someone could clue me in, I'd appreciate it.

Thanks.

Yes, it starts all over each time. You have other options, like getting the bundle and updating.
