That's a very good companion to Lap Around The Boat, in the topic Accidents and Incidents / Amazing Landings & Take Offs, with a McDonnell Douglas T-45 Goshawk doing a lap around an aircraft carrier, also with original sound.

Is there any real interest in these videos posts or are they just wasting space?

The preparations and last flight of one of the remaining Douglas C-124 Globemaster II, 52-1000, (in the early 1980's, somewhat poor video quality):

A look inside the cockpit, cargo bay and service tunnels to the engines(!):

Swedish road base exercise with recce Viggens

Some notes:
  • This is what the Viggens where built for 8)
  • The aircraft is built to not be flared on the final in order to shorten the landing roll
  • The reverser can be armed to engage when the main gear wheel struts are compressed, also in order to shorten the landing roll
  • These bases are today nearly extinct, and the bunkers filled and/or sealed :(
