It cant do it in real life ether. ).
Latest version has the Takeoff/landing data in the help file i think.

Ahhh! I have never decreased my fuel load;I have had all 4 tanks full on fuel. I'll try that out, thanks!

Just watch out for the Afterburner. If you let it kick in, your dead. When the FCS gets installed in a later release that wont be an issue.
Also, Pull back on the stick if your trying to take off vertical. This increases the output from the front of the aircraft. ( experiment to see how much stick you need )
