FG Crash reported to Microsoft.

Postby Necolatis » Wed Oct 31, 2012 9:19 am

FG has crashed some times for me.

Windows then makes crash report and send it to Microsoft.

Do you have access to those reports? Or is it waste of my time to send them.

nope we don't have access to these reports, and even if we had they would be of very little use probably.
If you want to help troubleshoot such issues, your best bet is our support forum.
It is quite likely that you are using a bunch of settings that are not fully supported by your current machine (hardware,OS/drivers) - so that you are getting a crash.
Depending on your hardware and system specs, you should still be able to run FG by disabling a bunch of settings that may contribute to the issue.

Is there somewhere an option to get a stacktrace when FG crashes?

not with the standard release ... people with developer tools may be able to provide one still.
But you are right, and a number of users have asked for such a feature, I have added the idea to our "Lessons learned" section in the wiki for 2.10.0: http://wiki.flightgear.org/Release_Plan#2.10

Yes, I got some advice in a bug report.

Running in a debug session, should give stack trace.

Except I do not have a 64 bit fgfs.exe with source build in for debugging.

Had a lot of trouble last time I tried to build FG on windows, not sure I am doing that again for some time.

Anyway, if anyone has a debug 2.10.0.3 win64 fgfs.exe, would be nice. :)

Well, I did manage to make the project.

But when debugging, I ran into trouble: viewtopic.php?f=45&t=19289
