Nice! One thing though, clicking the no-entry thumb, adds {no-entry} to the code-line, resulting in the "must be preceded by a {@R} glyph" error. Would be nice if it added a @R code when not present...

Apart from that, very nice improvements! Thanks a lot for your hard work on this tool!

Oh c'mon! :P But yeah, I do kinda understand, it'd probably annoying for a new user to click {no-entry} for the first time then get a message about a required {@R}...

Hey,

Great tool there! I just tested it in Google Chrome, and noticed only a small bug :
Image

There is no border around the Red Sign(L858-R).

Great Tool again, Keep up the work :)

Fahim

That was intended, there is no border rendered in FG either. :)

By hand!
See http://wiki.flightgear.org/Signs
Note that the 8.50 format for apt.dat does include the signs. So the next scenery build should include a lot of signs for each airport, and the "old way" will become deprecated. Probably in the months to come.

There exists a similar tool made for X-Plane: http://www.x-plane.es/taxisigns/signs.php Just disable "Textured" and don't enable any other checkbox as the offered features are not supported by FlightGear.

Does that mean that the next version of Flightgear will have the signs already at the airports?

Generating the terrain and generating a new FG version are two different things. So no, the next FG will be shipped with the current terrain, as months will be needed to generate the whole world. But we all hope this process will be achieved by 2013.
So I would recommend not to spend to much time on adding signs, as they will be automagically generated with that terrain. Better spend this time adding shared objects or designing 3D models.

...or updating/adding airport layouts that are missing or wrong. :)

The x-plane sign maker is a good example how to ignore your own specification. Because apt.dat (latest version) says nothing about textured signs or anything of the additional options there.
The tab "Sign syntax" looks more spec-like :)

Will you be so kind of providing a valid download link?

Is it online anywhere?

Unfortunately when I click the link it replies that the code is not valid.

Thank you!
