Yes, most probably the photographer has positioned the camera at a fixed point and taken several shots at different points of time, then merging the image together.
I have seen a rather similar picture taken after the AERO 2012 fair has closed doors and all aircraft has been departing in short sequence.
The image was even more impressive as the camera had been positioned at the end of the runway showing the various departure patterns of small, medium and large birds.
Unfortunately the picture is not freely accessible to the public afaik.

The author definitely photoshopped some planes in though. There are at least twenty planes that I can spot that do not fly into EDDV: both UAL planes, The SWA 737-700, the Midwest MD, the SR22 with N**** callsign, Qantas and Japan 744s, the Transavia 737, the Virgin Blue 737, the Asiana 772, the ANZ ATR-72, the Korean 777, the Royal Jordanian A330, the Northwest 747, the US owned biz jet, the Smart Wings 737, the VIA Tupelov, the N registered Cessna, the two Thomson craft, etc...

Ah, yes, there indeed is some inconsistency. The ATR72 for instance takes a rather steep and sharp turn to be realistic.
Though I would not generally rule out all. The 74x/77x/A33x might have a chance to be there, though a lower probability. Regarding the US based biz jets, I have seen various around here.
Plus the planes look extremely sharp and I had wondered how he maintained the z-order of the crafts in the picture.
I did indeed not look well enough at the various types and realism. So maybe we are both right. The picture is real and more planes have been photoshopped in for fun.

However that does not negate that I have seen similar pictures which are real :D

I'd say its clearly photoshopped in more ways than one. There's some smugging done as well.

Not even mentioning the enormous difference in scale of the aircraft :P

It's nice anyway!

I would not be interested.

If it has been photoshopped, it has lost its virginity. :P

(In other words, the photo has lost its realism in several ways. Whether or not the original departing aircraft exists would not make a huge difference in an image with such editing.)

Getting back on topic, here's a video for the virtual carrier pilots that definitely has not lost its virginity to editing (or music), and I really like the helmet camera view. Enjoy! :D

Aborted gusty crosswind landing attemp. Take a close look at his informative description. And the VSI right before his aborted landing!

On the lighter side: To the right you will see what happens when you fly the other airline.

Not an uncommon sight in the FlightGear world, but in the real world it's something you don't see very often (luckily)!

Ha ha, it's like 8 out of every 10 of my landings. :) That nose gear took a bit of a battering there.

Nose gear? The whole plane is bent.. I would worry more about that one lol

so is that plane a write off? Hard to think it would be easy to fix that one without costing too much.
