Because I'm interested, but this is my first 3D model.

It was the Breguet 761.

Re-directed from post on improving instruments:

OK so the current set of instruments is ( refer to Wiki screenshot)

ASI --- BLANK (Should be MFD)--- --- ALT--- --- Standby Horizon ---

(BLANK) --- (BLANK) --- --- VSI--- --- ADF ---

so I think I will replace the blanks with standard instruments of ones pilfered from a GPL Beech 1900D or a Twin Otter

ASI --- MFD from Beech 1900D--- --- ALT--- --- Standby Horizon ---

Course deviation indicator --- Radio Magnetic Indicator--- --- VSI--- --- ADF ---

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flight_instruments

http://www.bennettavionics.com/adf.html

also need to add two comm radios at the top of the panel, from B 1900D? This looks like it: http://www.bennettavionics.com/vir351.html

Any ideas?

Managed to add some instruments, Need to be placed better.

Add to the file containing the instruments in the models folder, called dhc8-300q.xml

Description will be in How to add instruments, but here is a basic listing from the file:

http://wiki.flightgear.org/Howto:Adding ... n_aircraft

<model>
<name>VSI 1 gauge </name>
<path>Aircraft/dhc8/Models/Instruments/vsi.xml</path>
<offsets>
<x-m>-8.927</x-m>
<y-m>-0.44</y-m>
<z-m>2.232</z-m>
<pitch-deg>0</pitch-deg>
</offsets>
</model>

<model>
<name>EFIS84 EADI-pilot fr 1900D ## same as asi z height! x is depth increasing negative vaue = further</name>
<path>Aircraft/dhc8/Models/Instruments/eadi.xml</path>
<offsets>
<x-m>-8.927</x-m>
<y-m>-0.552</y-m>
<z-m>2.382</z-m>
<pitch-deg>0</pitch-deg>
</offsets>
</model>

( note : the lines below use the original B1900D path to the instruments, no need to copy instrument files to dhc8 folder)

<model>
<name>EFIS84 EHSI-pilot fr 1900D see if it works</name>
<path>Aircraft/b1900d/Models/Instruments/ehsi.xml</path>

<z-m>2.232</z-m>
<pitch-deg>0</pitch-deg>
</offsets>
</model>

Loaded it in Blender.

Converted to 3ds file, located here: (bottom of page)
.blend file is uploading

I have converted it to .lwo ( opens in Wings 3D) and .wrl as well, will upload if anyone wants

.blend file is 4mb in size.In Blender you have to highlight the filename you want to convert, its export/import is a little confusing.

I am sad that production of this aircraft seem to have halted. I wish I knew how to make FG planes, then I would finish it. So many planes...so little time. :(

You should not be sad. You should be glad !. So many great planes to develop and plenty of time to do so. And it's all free and open source so you can work on this model as much as you like.

I know this is a dumb question, but I'm at a loss. How do I close the PAX door? I don't see any options in the cockpit nor in the menus.

Hi SuspiciousScript,
can you firm you are using the DHC8-300 (fgaddon folder dhc8)? I'm asking because as far as I see, the passenger doors are not movable on this model. If you are by chance using the Q400 (not 300), clicking on the doors should do the trick.

Hey D-ECHO, you're right — I got the dev threads mixed up. Glad you were still here to chime in and give me a hand! Great work on the Q400.
