I am trying to use the download_and_compile.sh script in debian 6.04 64bit. I had the whole of flightgear download and compiled before in ubuntu 10.04 and copied the whole flightgear folder over to my user folder in debian. I made sure the folder and contents had the correct permissions with the command "sudo chown -R greg.greg flightgear". Also made sure that the script can be started as an executable. Inside the script it searches for libboost1.46-dev. The latest version available for debian 6.04 is 1.42. I did a search and replace in the script with gedit to replace libboost1.46-dev with libboost1.42-dev. In the terminal I was using command to update to latest stable version like this:
sh download_and_compile.sh -s ALL -j 2
The -j 2 because I want to compile using two CPU cores.. When It asks for my password, I type my super user password but every-time it says incorrect. It is definitely correct because I can use the same in apt-get or synaptic.
Does anyone know what the problem is. How can it be fixed.
