How to use download_and_compile.sh for 2.5???

Postby chris_blues » Wed Jan 25, 2012 3:46 pm

Hi!

I was wondering, because I recently compiled FG2.7.0 with download_and_compile.sh. I didn't intend to. I would much rather liked to have compiled 2.5! So, how do I tell it to the script?
Which version would that option -s compile? 2.4? 2.5? Some version in between?
Code: Select all
$ download_and_compile.sh -s
....
* -s compile only last stable known versions             default=y

Thanks in advance!
chris

Code: Select all
download_and_compile.sh -s
compiles 2.4 ... hmmm, how do I get 2.5??? No info's in the wiki either... :roll:

But I do like local weather replaced global weather as default on 2.7!
cheers

Hey chris_blues

Up until today, to get 2.5 you would have had to run the script without the -s switch.

From today forward, and I'm only postulating here, running the brisa scipt with the -s switch would get you V2.6, without the switch would get you 2.7. Not sure about that though. :? :?:

I know, I'll probably be testing it in the next week or so. :)

Well, since 2.6 Release branch was created, the script built 2.7 as the newest git code... I helped myself by changing the script itself.

Lines 121 and following:
Code: Select all
#######################################################
# Last stable revision: currently FlightGear 2.4.0 with 3.0.1
PLIB_STABLE_REVISION="2163"
OSG_STABLE_REVISION="http://www.openscenegraph.org/svn/osg/OpenSceneGraph/tags/OpenSceneGraph-3.0.1"

# common stable branch for flightgear, simgear and fgdata
FGSG_STABLE_GIT_BRANCH="release/2.6.0"

# unstable branch: next for sg/fg, master for fgdata
FGSG_UNSTABLE_GIT_BRANCH="next"
FGDATA_UNSTABLE_GIT_BRANCH="master"

# stable GIT revision: release tag
SIMGEAR_STABLE_REVISION="version/2.6.0-final"
FGFS_STABLE_REVISION="version/2.6.0-final"
FGFS_DATA_STABLE_REVISION="version/2.6.0-final"

FGRUN_STABLE_REVISION="625"
FGCOM_STABLE_REVISION="234"
FGCOMGUI_STABLE_REVISION="46"

# Current developer revision: latest FlightGear GIT (2.5.0) with OSG 3.0.1
OSG_UNSTABLE_REVISION="http://www.openscenegraph.org/svn/osg/OpenSceneGraph/tags/OpenSceneGraph-3.0.1"

#######################################################
# set script to stop if an error occours
set -e

This helped for me. Using the -s option compiled the release version of 2.6, which, and I think you are right there, will be build in the future as "stable" aka -s ...

Thanks for your input anyway! :)

cheers
chris
